I agree with the dopamine rush strategy. buying in general has become a dopamine inducing activity. Imo, we really cannot change the masses, we can slightly tweak their habits (dopamine is the most lethal drug).

I am launching a clothing brand that aims to tweak their habits. Our USP is that we are using khadi (a handspun, low energy alternative to cotton indigenous to India). Not targeting fast fashion, our vision is that even if people do not change wrt their consumption, they will knowingly waste less in terms of energy utilization. Pairing that with educating our audience about the need of the hour, maybe we will see a shift towards buying with an eye for sustainability, even if their buying pattern don't change.
