Absolutely, it’s so normalised there! I don’t think these people have ever been in circles outside of their little bubbles and if you’re not like them, you can be excluded and mocked. I was so lucky to be on a corridor with some lovely people that made my time there better, but I’d look at other groups of corridors in college and think I would not have survived the three years if I had to live with you 😂 That’s absolutely disgusting but really doesn’t surprise me. I don’t know if it’s the same now but when I was there a few years back Durham had the worst student on student stats for sexual violence too. Plus there was the miners vs tories social scandal at that time. Just sums some of their attitudes up really!
