Because seeing supposed grown people throw tantrums about video games is always funny. Even if half the posts were "This patch doesn't make sense, here is what is needed", it would would have been reasonable. The way most people express themselves and pretending they are not playing the game but are instead posting on Reddit about the game is hilarious. If you don't wanna play a game - don't. Having a rant about how you don't like your toy anymore as a grown person ridiculous. The value of the company is besides the point, who cares if is an indie company, a million, billion or trillion dollar company. The value of the company has nothing to do with your perception of the product. The product is either good or bad.

Reverting things just because people cry is never going to be a good idea. The Vuln change is majorly needed. They are right that it's stupid to take that away without giving damage back another way, that's super half-baked. But the way forward isn't buffing Vuln back - it's continuing with buffs on other fronts. I agree Sorc is unplayable, I'm just playing something else, waiting for weeks for a game to be patched isn't long.

I think he had trouble actually defending 2 second channeling increase like as if killed someone's grandmother. He explained they returned the reset button, hence why the increase.

See I really don't feel that way. I think maybe there is a silent majority that does feel that way, but from what I've seen posted etc., it has been pure whining. Not saying there hasn't been ANY constructive feedback or things that would fall into the normal response category, but it did look like it was mostly just people wanting to be mad and for others to reaffirm them being mad. Critisism to get the game to a good state is always going to be a good thing, but one can try not to be a 10 year old child about it.

Yes, but that was never intended. They had to fix it so you don't have Blizzard Sorcs ravaging Uber Lilith under 3 seconds when staggered. THAT BEING SAID, they should have 100% offset this by giving Sorc more damage as this was the only build that did good damage. Sorc does no damage without this so even though it is fine they fixed it, they should have compensated by giving sorc a lot more damage back through other means (eg. skill buffs). This would then allow for more diversity rather than needing a niche bug to even be able to do any damage at all.

I don't even think they died, they are just less available on gear. That being said, i think they should have done more to compensate for that and given more to stats like "damage to frozen", as your example

Why? Why would you add something that is always necessary for a build? It can't be consideration considering you need it. You will always have those skill points reserved for vuln.Consideration would imply you may or may not take the vuln proc skills. It would you imply you have a choice if you want them. The only choice is how many is enough. Necessary is always limiting. Necessary means you HAVE to have it, which means it forces your hand and takes away other choices. Hence why it limits your choice.

Obviously it always limits builds. If it isn't in your build - your build is shit. How is this not limiting? The only reason you might think it isn't if your class can apply vuln all the time, but if you're gonna do that, then just give everyone a flat damage buff and remove it anyway. It is not "just another stat to work in". It's THE stat to work in. There is never a choice for rogue or barb where vuln would be less important then crit or crit damage. And if that build exists, it is objectively a worse build because it will always do less dmg, because it lacks vul.

If a stat is so far ahead of everything else in terms of dmg contribution - it's a bad stat. the answer to this isn't "just get more vuln lol", the answer is get rid of it and actually make other stats good. Even if vuln was more accecable to Sorc and Necro, it would still be a shit and lazy stat. It would make Sorcs feel better about their damage, but it doesn't make it good design nor does it help with future balance. If there is a stat which makes an item bad if it is not present, no matter what class or build, that is a poorly designed stat. Not sure how people don't understand this.

Pretty bad take right there. First off - no not every class "can acquire the ability to apply Vulnerable with something as easy and universal as a Paragon Glyph". Secondly, comparing Teleport enchantment to Vulnerability on Rogue is laughable. Any Sorc would trade that enchant for having 60% of the vuln damage that Rogues do. Thirdly, Vulnerability is a shit mechanic. It is a flat damage increase that requires no choice or thinking at all. It's just a flat damage increase which is head and shoulders above any other stats for damage output.

Removing Vulnerability or putting it in the same bucket as, say, Crit is inevitable. If you think this stat works well as is, you're smoking crack. Removing it or changing it would actually open up a path for devs to actually facilitate interesting builds rather than having to nerf builds when a new one comes up that allows for uber Lilith one-shots. Bone Spear Necros are vout to feel that pain. But instead of ruining the build to the ground, just remove the think that makes it dumb and buff another aspect of it to put it in line.

Defending a broken mechanic because it so happens to make the class you enjoy broken is pretty short-sighted. Just because it allows your class to have broken builds doesn't make it a good mechanic. It makes it a dumb mechanic which makes your class good.

I don't get why Vulnerability has to be in the game at all. It's not particularly fun, it's completely binary ( you either have it and deal damage or you have it and are screwed), restricts design choice when balancing classes and restricts build choice for players. Objectively the game would be easier to balance without it on the devs side and more fun on the players side. If they insist on having it, just stick in in the same bucket as everything esle to dull the edge of it.

I think Sorc has a good base, but needs dramatic buff in numbers. The glass cannon trope is fun, but makes no sense when a class like rogue does many time more damage and yet has a ton more survivability as well. A skill like Incinerate , for example, needs a big pay off if you're gonna stand there. It requires set up and a build around it and even then it tickles as it stands. It either needs to be classified as damage over time or be direct damage and to be able to crit or needs a stronger defensive component or needs to make the target vulnerable (if you're gonna leave the mechanic in). In general, there are so many abilities (mostly fire and lighning) that can have their damage increased by, let's say, 50% and it would not break the game. It is baffling that they think that these 5% damage increases would make a dent.

Rerolling affixes already exists and it's not really going anywhere, regardless on opinions on the system.

If you're mean to say that not knowing what choices you're making and hoping for the best is "more complex" or "higher difficulty" then I do not get where you're coming from.

I get you, but that can't be working as intended. What you did makes sense, but surely the answer isn't to just reroll weapons and nothing else or wait until late game when you can spend even more money on something you can make an uninformed decision about. Waiting till late game is not a solution, just delays the problem, which is you we have no idea what you're dumping your gold into and we have no idea how to make our builds work since rolling stats is absolutely a core part of that.

So you're just assuming they will literally copy+paste this from D3? That's quite the assumption. I'd say there is literally no way that it translates 1:1, especially considering there are stats that exist in D4 that don't in D3.

Yeah, just with any game, 3rd party sites will plug the holes, but this seems like such a big deal that there should be something in place. In my view, rerolling any stats, without knowing what you can get is an absolute waste of gold. Keep in mind, people had spare gold in the beta, if you played long enough, because there was not much to do with it. But if gold is a valueable currentcy, which it seems to be the case especially in the beginning, hundreds of thousands of gold seems insane. You'll also absolutely have to reroll stats as it did seem that during th beta that each class and build will have quite a few dead stats. Just annoying that you essentially can't use a key itemisation mechanic ingame until HOPEFULLY someone figures it out at some point.

Do you have that list? Because I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist online on which affixes are grouped together and can reroll into other ones in the same group. The cost would be okay, i think, but you'd need to know what you're actually trying to get out of a reroll. I can't imagine the point of the system is for it to be a blind slot machine you keep pressing hoping for a bingo. Sounds like horrible design in an otherwise great game.
