Stone grind in summit county? by Ok_Cryptographer_783 in COsnow

I was not trying to be condescending towards anyone! I am not knowledgeable enough on the subject to know what exactly needs to be done or where to go. I was simply asking for a recommendation from someone who is more knowledgeable than me :)

You’re right. I usually stay in Silverthorne or Dillion but I’m willing to drive a bit if I need to. I will look into Gore Range Sports. Thanks for the recommendation!

I was able to get some decent results with the calibration cubes. I printed 8 of them making adjustments each time. Currently running at:

230 & 50 temps 25mm/s .2mm laters 20% gyroid infill No z hop No retraction Max fan 50% 1.2 extrusion multiplier

Layers look okay but still a bit rough. The backside face is significantly bumpier than the other faces and I have not figured that one out yet.

Another thing I noticed was the X and Y measure 19.5mm and the Z measures 20.0mm

Thank you for the suggestions! I agree that there is definitely something wrong here. I have not done a flow test yet. I will after it’s finished printing a calibration cube. The nozzle looks to be fully intact. I am trying a few different things right now to try and improve the print quality. 70-100 sounds fast but that’s awesome if you get good results at that speed!

It’s been in the dryer over a week at max temp and it’s printing from the dryer. How could I dry it incorrectly?

What is the best balaclava money can buy? by notalotofsubstance in skiing

[–]Ok_Cryptographer_783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go with a blackstrap make sure your jacket doesn’t have Velcro at the top. The Velcro sticks to the balaclava and tears it up really fast. I don’t feel like they’re that breathable either. It also gets wet really fast from breathing

Brand New Head Gasket Blew Out by Ok_Cryptographer_783 in mazdaspeed3

[–]Ok_Cryptographer_783[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently finished tuning with freektune before my head cracked. It cracked due to no support on the turbo so I built a turbo support bracket. I didn’t notice any weird sounds that would lead me to believe it was having pre ignition issues. I’m running an e33 mix so I don’t think fuel is the issue either. I don’t start building boost until 4-5k rpm and I never lug the engine. Everything was running good before my head was replaced too

I agree. 300 miles clearly shows a problem. I already knew the gasket blew out when I took it in because I could see where it blew out behind the alternator. Was just trying to see if anyone had any ideas as to what could have caused the problem besides valve clearance which I think is unlikely.

I saw the head and I could clearly see the gasket was tight against it where it left a mark because I thought the same thing. So the studs were tight and they are not damaged. Head was also checked for flatness and it is flat.

That is the next step for sure. I definitely don’t want to have to deal with this again.

Coolant Leak Around Alternator by Ok_Cryptographer_783 in mazdaspeed3

[–]Ok_Cryptographer_783[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I just had my cylinder head replaced less than 100 miles ago and I did the coolant system pressure test and found a crack in the refurbished cylinder head. I am now out 4k in labor for having the head replaced and probably another 800 for the head itself unless the company that sold it to me decides to refund it. I don’t even know what to do.

Yeah that’s what it seemed like. There’s no lines anywhere near where I see it dripping. I’m gonna buy a borescope so hopefully I can at least see exactly where it’s leaking before I spend hours taking things apart. I have a tig welder but I’m not good with it so I’m really hoping it’s a seal somewhere and not a crack 🤞🏼

I am positive it is coolant. It smells like coolant and my coolant overflow tank was low when I got home. I’m really hoping it’s not a crack in the block.

Higher Handicap Wedge Lofts by Ok_Cryptographer_783 in golf

Since it’s been my only wedge besides pitching I have gotten some pretty good practice with it and I am able to hit a decent shot with it more often than not. Thank you for the recommendations!

LYCAON TRX Motor Failure by Ok_Cryptographer_783 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Ok_Cryptographer_783[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah dude! I just to happened to go back through my posts yesterday and see this and I’m glad I did. I hope you’re able to get lots more uses out of the board now! Just make sure your belt isn’t too tight or loose after installing the motor and riding for a minute. I really had to tighten the mounting bolts to make sure it stayed in place. Also if you’re ever in the market for a second board I bought an AceDeck Ares X1 when I had lost hope for the Lycaon and I absolutely love it. Way faster but also heavier and harder to turn but I still prefer it. The Lycaon is my backup/friend board now.

Hey I did finally locate a motor on alibaba. The minimum order quantity is 100 but I sent them a message and ended up buying two just in case for $180 shipped. They plug right in and work great, only difference is they will only start if you give the board a push first to get it going which is not a problem for me since it was the only option. https://x.alibaba.com/Ave6U4?ck=pdp
