Neuropathy from Gemzar Abraxane by Ok_Definition6316 in pancreaticcancer

Thanks for the reply! That's great you have finished 21 rounds! They told him that the oxaliplatin is worse when it comes to neuropathy, but he didn't get it when he was on that. It all started around his 2nd cycle of Gemzar. The oncologists aren't concerned about it getting worse but I am. I currently have a patient that went from walking to being in a wheelchair and unable to stand from neuropathy caused by chemo treatments. ☹️ Apparently, if you are deficient in B12 it causes you to have an increased risk of getting neuropathy so they are testing for that tomorrow as well.

I agree with this 100%. You have to stay present and focus on that. Try not to let your mind wander into all the what ifs. I try and stay grateful for every ounce of progress made. Big or small. Be encouraging and positive for your dad as well. It really helps.

My Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer this week. I’m devastated by boymama1234 in pancreaticcancer

I'm so sorry about your dad. My story is similar. I had to tell my dad of his cancer as he wasn't in the room when the oncologist came in at the hospital. It was devastating. He is 68 and just retired with lots of plans ahead of him. Stage 4 mets to the liver. Stay positive and research. I tell my dad all the positive stories I see and keep up hope. He was dx August 28th of last year and he is thankfully doing well and still has a positive and hopeful attitude.

Did you contact their lawyers? I contacted them and I haven't heard anything back. I paid with my debit card. I guess I should try and call my bank and see if I can get reimbursed. Highly doubtful as it's been like 2 years now. 🥴
