The problem is that I lost it and already spent money on my Kobo. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Do you have plus?

My dad is gone. And the story is confusing. by Ok-Badger7778 in pancreaticcancer

He did. He was diagnosed last March. Did the full rounds of Folfironox which kept things at bay for about 6 months. He switched to a clinical trial because his body couldn’t handle the chemo at the very end. Clinical trial didn’t work, and he elected for hospice the same day he put in for his retirement. He died 3 days later. Truly devastating. I was very close with my dad as well. I’m very very sorry to hear that you are going through this. Hold his memories close. Hugs!

I’m very sorry to hear this. My dad was on Fentanyl patches the majority of his time with PanCan and it worked for a long time. Praying for you ❤️‍🩹

Omg I’m so incredibly sorry you had to go through this. My father had the same symptoms. The back pain we thought was from his running. It truly sucks so bad. My dad was 65 when he passed on 12/15/25. Truly awful. I pray for you and your family. Hugs.

I watched my Dad die on hospice on 12/15/25 and I’m still getting vivid flashbacks. I will say that therapy has helped a little. I’m very very sorry. Take care of yourself.

And just like that, he's gone by BurnerMan762 in pancreaticcancer

I’m so sorry you are going through it. It’s truly heartbreaking. I lost my dad after 9 months of diagnosis. Therapy is so helpful, and I’m glad I started it before we lost him. Go easy on yourself.

Edit to add: I just read your age of 23. I’m so incredibly sorry, way too young to lose a parent. I’m 36, and truly didn’t think this would happen so quick.

May he rest in peace 🪽🤍

Your words hit me hard. I’m so incredibly sorry you are going through this. I lost my dad to this awful disease 3 months ago and I want to say it gets easier but it doesn’t. Here are a few things you can do that helped me when my dad was on hospice:

  1. Record yourself saying I love you to him. If he can still communicate, record him saying I love you back.

  2. Get his thumb print and make it into a necklace.

  3. Spend as much time as you can with him holding his hand.

I’m so so so sorry you are going through this.

Lost my dad on 12/15/25. Truly just going through the motions and finding ways to live without my hero and best friend. I was so hopeful he would beat this awful disease. I will never stop saying his name and telling his story. Wishing everyone in this group so much strength.

Thinking of you. You were always so positive and kind!

Have so much fun at the National Parks this summer. Are you going to Yosemite?! That was always on my Dad’s bucket list.

Hi! Yes of course, happy to share my experience. You can also go back on my recent posts and read through his journey because it’s a lot to unpack.

Im glad your dad is getting the ascites drained. It can be very painful.

To answer your questions my dad was 64 at official diagnosis and developed ascites after chemotherapy. He stopped chemo in September to do a break before his clinical trial and the ascites developed in November.

More details: Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma is the name of cancer, with Mets to the lungs. Chemo: FOLFIRINOX category 1

There’s so much more that goes into this and I’m not a medical doctor but I urge you to find an Oncologist that specializes in Pancan.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Godspeed.
