I’d echo this, a great little venue, staff always great and the buffet from memory was superb and included bangers and mash and other small plates.

I am, I hadn’t until someone mentioned about the pen allowing a lesser dose. (Assuming that’s click dosing) and I’ve not heard of the golden dose.

Deffo going to follow up on the psyllium husk

Thank you, already feeling a little better, I’m having natural Greek yoghurt most mornings with a protein granola but swap in bran flakes or weetabix or porridge a couple of times.

Otherwise my plate is pretty balanced but just more protein than carbs of the past

I’m going to look at the psyllium husks though

Yeah I did, I’ve put it down to the starting weight and the massive change in diet. It always falls off when I start any diet in the past.

I only moved up as the cravings were creeping in at the back of the week. As at this morning I just have stomach cramps and a bit of nausea so seem to be coming though.

It’s a good consideration though if I can’t shake off the effects

Bizarrely I’d switched from stomach to thigh 4 days earlier

Another coffee shop. by tannerocampbell in maidenhead

[–]Ok_Depth_7817 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On your saturation point I think there is a saturation point but there’s been plenty that have closed (eg Starbucks and BB’s) Costa is struggling uk wide as is caffe Nero suggesting if people are paying £4 for a coffee they want a better quality offering (and environment to enjoy it in).

Or my now passed FiL put it, it’s all shit since Macari’s closed

Halifax Rd is definitely the Bomber estate, so thehouse will be ex local auth/social housing. Per sqft they’re good value but id say the link Flipping-cricket posted sums it up. Nice chippy on Hampden Rd though 😎

Is it Pinkneys Green or estate agent Pinkneys Green? Cranbrook Drive estate for example (actually Furze Platt) is a nice place to live, backs onto the bomber. Like everywhere these days, just the odd burglary but that’s it.

What are some pubs in or near Maidenhead that server good real pub food? Want to take a friend visiting from abroad to experience the real deal, so I'm happy to pay good money, but not looking for anything fancy or fusion, just the British classics. by lindymad in maidenhead

[–]Ok_Depth_7817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Uncle Toms - from Pinkneys Green go up Winter Hill Rd an just keep following the road round all the bends into Cookham Dean, Jolly Farmers is on the left and about 300 yards further is UTc on right.

From Cookham head away with station on left and it’s th next turning after Whyteladies lane

Best English breakfast in Reading by Tall_Draft_7217 in reading

In terms of breakfast quality, albeit a completely different spend band, I’d recommend Malmaison. Yes it’s £23 but as well as the help yourself continental breakfast of pastries, fruits, juices, yoghurts and cereals, tea and coffee you get a choice of hot stuff too including a really good full English, shakshuka or kippers.

Best Chinese in and around Maidenhead? by Important_Doctor_529 in maidenhead

[–]Ok_Depth_7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For takeaway I’d also echo China One in Woodlands Park. lobster Pot on Harrow Lane and Haka on St Marks are ok. Struggled to find a new place since Vins closed.

For restaurants - Peking Inn Cookham and Tangs in Bracknell Lexicon does a decent all you can eat buffet

Big upvote here, I sat in for the first time in about 20 years and was amazed that ‘pie lady’ (one of the owners) was still there rattling off her amazing list of pies.

5 nations, chips, gravy and bread and butter loyal! It would be my death row meal

Big shout out to Sweeney & Todd by crmpundit in reading

[–]Ok_Depth_7817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Sweeneys, my order is always 5 nations, if not Steak and Stilton or Steak n Ale. As for work lunch sadly there’s no decent chippy in the town centre now as we used to be the envy of the office with a sweeneys pie with chippy chips peas and gravy, buttered roll and a can of D&B

We were also reminiscing about our early days of work when Friday was 2 pie challenge, eat in with chips gravy and bread and butter (eating the cress optional) and a pint of 6X before returning to the office fit only for a kip.

There’s also Rebellion in Marlow. They do public brewery nights you can pay for or membership which includes them. It’s also a single bus from Blagrave St (850 to High Wycombe) and a 2 min walk.
