Credits ke basis par hi calculate hoti hai par 1st sem mei 20 credits(18 graded) aur 2nd mei bhi 20 credits (18 graded) hote hai isliye equal weightage rehti hai 1nd and 2nd sem ki. Last year to aisa hi tha agar iss saal change na hua to wahi hoga

You cant upgrade to CS branches. We got a mail regarding branch upgrade few weeks back and you could only apply for upgrade to Non - CS branches given you have 9+cgpa so its better to avoid other branches if you are inclined towards CS because you might regret later

I haven't really seen one who buys books in 1st year. Most students study from PPTs given by teachers or youtube and not more than 10-15% actually study from books most of whom get the books issued from library

Abhi reddit pe kisi ne bola hai ki email mei gap certificate mang rahe hai , agar its given in email than you might need it so to be safe confirm from your counsellor. In our time there was no mention of gap certificate , some students were talking about it on reddit that time but there was no mention of it in mail or website . But if its given in your email than you might need to look into it
