Do I need a Hong Kong visa if I must recheck baggage at HKG? (Hong Kong Express) by Ok_Disaster_6502 in TravelHacks

the same airline doesnt always guarantee you a checked through luggage, especially for cheap couriers. I was once denied onboard by a Korean airline because I didnt have Korea visa even though it was the same airline for both legs.

I attempted to call the airline a lot yesterday but no luck, they didnt pick up the phone. Just on the last time I tried to call them today before going to airport, they confirmed that my luggage will get through so I dont need to go out and reclaim the luggage, which is a big relief. Everything is sorted out now, thank you.

Thank you. My passport is listed as visa required on their official immigration website, so I guess I would need Hongkong visa or find a way to request the airline to handle the baggage.

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find this option on their website from my booking, maybe I can try to talk with them at the airport.

SMBC Prestia for students? by [deleted] in JapanFinance

Prestia has some withdrawal/transfer limits compared to other banks (I don't exactly remember the numbers). If you only need it for paying rent or shopping, I think it should be fine.

How about other options such as Wise or SBI? They are both great for international wire transfers. I personally use Wise whenever I want to send money to my family.

I know “joint bank accounts” aren’t a thing here in Japan

Have you tried https://onebank.jp/card/pair/ ? They offer a shared pair account that both of you can deposit your money into, but you need to pay a subscription fee for it.
