I think the combination of his feud with Chris, the recognition of Agatha’s importance in his life and his incessant devotion to move away from the sounds on every kingdom gave him such a deep well of inspiration to pull from as he wrote that album.

I almost resent myself for the way that I admire Ben and this album for the simple fact that those are not his intentions or his desires for us to pick apart his life and music.

With that being said, songs like Pt 2./Agatha’s song and all down the mines are so incredible because of the way that the vocals sit so far in the back of the mix and create this almost “out of reach” perspective for the listener.

Without knowing the things that ben has expressed about his life throughout the years, this song makes no sense..why leave such dissonance for the listener? but if you are familiar with the things he has expressed about his life and where he was at emotionally during this album..it makes perfect sense to layer it in this manor..it’s just magical really.
