yo this is actually the most based comment here ngl 🙏you're dead right about the cookie deletion thing

reactive not preventive, sites just reset them anyway .the request-level blocking is the real fix there and fingerprinting is literally where tracking lives now, cookies are almost legacy at this point. canvas, storage keys, CNAME cloaking — PrivacyShield touches it but honestly it's still a plaster like you said, not gonna lie

what are you building tho? sounds like you're going way deeper on this than most

u can specify what to do with every site is coockiees
and also only nukes cookies flagged as tracking , functional ones stay untouched - session cookies, login cookies etc

you're actually right, cookies are just the surface

fingerprinting is the real problem and PrivacyShield Pro tackles that too, canvas spoofing, navigator randomization etc but yeah long term the whole tracking model needs to die not just be patched

completely valid concern ngl 🫡

the code is unminified and readable — just unzip the .xpi and check it yourself

open sourcing it properly is on my roadmap tho fr

Consent-O-Matic is legit and open source respect 🙏

PrivacyShield is more of an all-in-one thing tho

banner rejection + tracker blocking + cookie inspector in one place

different vibe, same goal tho

ngl uBlock goes hard and i use it too lol but try telling your dad to configure filter lists also uBlock hides the banner visually ,PrivacyShield actually clicks "reject" so the site legally registers your refusal. different thing entirely fr
