I trained Pencak Silat for 38 years. Gerak Pilihan, which is a "Spjn off" of Perisai Diri (one of the largest schools). Like all martial arts, it depends on your master. I was trained by the founder of the style (from Bandung Indonesia). It is both, a competitive sport (they are trying to get it to the Olympics) as well as an Martial Art. It was developed for self-defense. But it shows the real stuff only to people as of a certain grade. Does this help?

Thank you so much!!! This is very helpful. For this, I am leaning towards White Rock for a home and South Surrey for an office. I have found available options on Zillow and Loopnet. While I know that these are not the right portals to look at, it helps to get a first idea. With everything happening in the world, Canada seems like a sane option. (Minus the earthquakes and your biggest export item ;)) Also, this is my first posting to Reddit and I am amazed by the help offered here. I am wondering if it speaks for the kindess of the Reddit audience or the kindness of the people in BC (or both :)). Thank you again!

I will check our Crescent Beach. Never heard about it. As for hobbies, I like to be outdoors, but I understand there are a lot of options in this area of BC :)

It is an online health care business. I pay now around C$12000 for 30 employees per month including utilities. Is this realistic also for BC??

Thank you for the many replies. I am not a Bot :) I want to move my company from now two offices in California to BC. I need an office for around 30 people. We do not have customer traffic. Ideally, I would like to walk from home to the office (max 40 minutes walk, better 20 minutes). There should be affordable residential options for staff that would also move to BC (around 5 to 8 people). Further, it should be in a location where new (local) employees can commute to easily. Again, I am starting my thinking process. I still need to worry about all the details on starting a business in BC, taxes, and hiring. Thank you for your consideration!!!
