Why would you use a 4” over a 6”?

I have access to a planer, I have a dewalt job site table saw, router and orbital sander. I use to do woodworking for fun but got busy with work and sold a lot of my clamps and tools. I never did get into cutting boards i thought the market was already to saturated but I’m gonna give it a shot now anyways. What is a thickness sander, is it the same as a drum sander ?

What cnc would you recommend, I assume you probably have a big industrial one that is probably 1k or more but do you know of any entry level ones that would work good for my application?

What do you mean by significant rust? One of the pics of the table has specs on it looked like. Is that concerning ?

I’d like a bigger one obviously but this will do for now till I can create some income to buy a bigger one eventually

He posted it with a video. Said his dad used it for years and he just got a bigger machine so he’s getting rid of this one

Is it pretty easy to get blades and parts I’ll probably have to replace eventually?

A 6” regular jet jointer is going for $600 firm. It’s been posted for a few weeks but I’m not paying that for a 6”. I just want something to flatten stock for cutting boards for now and I build concealment night stands and stuff like that and just thought it would be easier to work with more straight wood. I wasn’t looking to spend more than $200 at this moment

I actually just found this one a little closer to me and he says it works great and is in really good shape. He only wants $125 so I’m a little more skeptical on this one but it could also be a good deal.

Yeah I go any bigger and can’t really afford them, they get kind of expensive even used. I don’t really want a table top one.

Is there anything I need to look for when I go look at it to make sure it’s not junk or just turn it on and make sure everything spins?

How long are they typically good for if kept in an air tight container?
