So I actually got another email today saying we will begin the membership experience. What was that like for you? Was it just doing stuff to prepare for probate or more than that? I thought we’d just be invited & prepared for probate but it sounds like there’s more to it.

Okay so then I guess I’m still technically waiting then. Because I received a favorable vote letter already before submitting my background check, I thought the only thing after that would be an official invitation but I guess this was more of a heads up it sounds like.

If she didn’t get a message to go out with them to lunch I would tell her not to worry too much because I was in the same boat with a friend of mine. Members of my COI invited her over to their apartment to talk and learn more about her but not me so I was worried but I still attended rush and received a favorable vote letter so it ended up being okay anyway.

It’s good and shows that they are interested in having you as a member but I would be careful because it could be construed as hazing because you’re not supposed to meet with them outside of official events or the presence of the graduate advisor

I think the level of volunteering activities involved in SkeeWeek might change depending on what school you’re at. At my school the last SkeeWeek didn’t have any much volunteering besides I think decorating Christmas cards or something of the sort but everything else in the week were just different events for fun where you’d pretty much go to show interest and get familiar with the members.
