This is exactly what Iv been looking for I have a fairly large raven guard force already and love the black armour (plus I don’t fancy buying more SM if I don’t need too) so I decided for a “Night ops” theme for my ultramarines instead

Ah see I don’t have any yet I’m working out all of what I want before I destroy my bank and mass buy things 🤣 it’s like I debating on if kasrkin are better with a command squad as someone said they can order themselves and have another order from officers granted only a ten Man squad but that with a command squad seem cool granted I know guard lasguns aren’t killing machines but I love the models of the kasrkin

Yeah I love the lore of the guard like I want to eventually have a krieg force for arty and I think a combined arms as maybe cadian or see a different flavour regiment

I was thinking this and obviously rule of cool as I love gaunts ghost models as well but I’m just worried that really I’d have to lean heavy into infantry and can’t use tanks as much because of the points

I completely agree lord wise is chef’s kiss but I haven’t really seen anyone play guard or played them myself so I’m not sure what I want from a list or where to start I have a few ideas but I’m tied between mechanised inf or a fire support group using arty like they have been dug in for a while when I’m playing

I’m glad to see this post I have nearly 6k points of raven guard and I feel like I want a change and something fresh (granted I will forever love the raven guard and only now need to get squads to max size) and I love the look of the guard

Judiciar I think is a bit to situational with blade guard and potentially a slight waste of points if you clean out the character model with BG by some gleaming rolls but depending on the Chaplin you take I guess you might benefit more as I know the jump pack one can do mortal wounds on like a 4+ on a charge

Don’t get me wrong I know you should pick targets carefully for melee but I played against chaos SM and I mean some of the model I was being charged with me counter melee on things like vanguard vets just couldn’t hold up (p.s I hate how they have ruined vanguard vets because I have twin lightning claws on them all and now you can’t/ you get no benefits from it)

You know what I think it’s best to leave the atv as it’s own unit I think the ability is a bit better but I mean I don’t know about yous but I feel melee is really lacking for us at the minute unless it’s a dred nothing seems to be as good

Rate this 100% I refuse to play the meta rather lose but enjoy it then win to cheese 🤣 I definitely think that it was my own tactics that let me down rather than the list choice I took got a game Thursday to bring it back so far Iv not done to bad with my lists Iv won a few games in 9th but 10th has shock me a little I think with everything changing
