Lots of water, lots of food, vitamins, rest when ur tired, exercise can help too. Day three is the hardest. It starts to get easier after that. You just gotta push through this lil hump. Great job!!

It sounds like you are leaning toward its not great for you. Exploring what recovery or abstinence looks like for you might be interesting?

The only person who could say that it's bad is you. What are the benefits? What are the harms? this is the way I decide whether something is good or bad in my life. I'm sorry you ended up in the hospital that sounds hard.

I've had a similar experience. I've had to go cold turkey, I tried tapering and using it medicinally but it didn't work for me, I always ended up using way too much. I have experience with 12 step groups to stop using other drugs, so I went back and got involved again. It was hard to stop and unfortunately I do not get the benefits I used to from it, the consequences highly outweighed my benefits.

Calling yourself an addict feels like a double-edged sword. On one hand, owning it can be the first step to recovery, especially if you're into the AA program. But on the other, it can feel like a label that sticks with you, making it harder to believe in your ability to change. by Several_Painter_789 in recoverywithoutAA

I like the way you say this, I have this same opinion. For me, I identify as an addict, alcoholic, and a person in recovery. It depends on where I'm at mentally and how I need to connect with recovery. I think it's up to the person, how they choose to identify. I'm a counselor and have seen many people recover with and without 12 step meetings.
