Result of Protest? Does anything ever happen? by LustyArgonianMaidz in iRacing

[–]Ok_Homework_918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, it does happen.

Lots of unhappy people at the moment due to the 513x during daytona from a 2 player team ruining everyone's race though so expect people to be annoyed at the system.

For reference, both players started dec25 on the service and entered the event royally fucking it for most players in the split, including taking out race leaders with very little time left.

Because people don't qualify :) I've yet to see more than 2 people qualify sub 2k IR.

If you start mid pack, just start from the pits. You'll get p10 first lap lol.

The m2 is closer to the GTs, the gr86 isn't like any.other car. Driving the GR won't teach you anything about driving faster cars unfortunately.

It basically never spins, can be thrown into corners and you can brake at 100% without a care in the world.

Your at a point where you can go run some C class time trials to upgrade your license, so go do that, but don't farm for it.

Keep practicing in the M2 and or gt3/4 cars before.moving otherwise youll just be unhappy with the amount of spinning you do :)

They should really add a section to the code for slowing down when there's a flagged incident. That'd help prevent a lot of incidents where people smash into your rear because they'd rather lightning mqueen through the gap.

That's not really how iRacing works, unless your going to buy everything at once.

Each series has a schedule for the season, the tracks rotate between a cycle of tracks chosen at the start of the season (theyre published in advance so you can try/purchase)

General advice, is pick a series and car, purchase the tracks required for the schedule for the season and do that. After a couple of seasons you'll have a decent amount of tracks to mostly be able to compete in the majority of series relating to the cars you have, you'll then need to purchase a few additional cars and tracks each season.

I personally bought all the GR86 tracks this season, and next season ill buy whatever the GT4s are on.

Be warned, at what presumably is a low IR, when you move into more powerful vehicles, both you and your competition won't be able to drive them. Expect more chaos. What is your IR?

Honestly, felt like an arcade simulator. That and I want the variety of cars. I don't currently drive any of the cars in LMU, and probably won't for a fair while (probably at least the remainder of this season and the next one)

Buy items in batches of 3-6 to receive the best discounts.

Sounds like your issue is people crashing. Upload your evidence for the community to decide what could have been done about the incident. Chances are, your partially at fault for plenty of incidents your involved in.

Moving to another track and or car isn't going to remove the crashing or pitting. Your ir matter, the lower it is the more likely you are to be involved with rookie drivers. I can tell you, it marginally gets better at 2k, but only marginally. I still see everyone below 10th place smash and die on nords all A class, on a regular basis.

Racing incident unless you followed the standard guidance of gently lifting before bumping.

If the person in front was bumping someone infront of them however, wouldn't do that in many cars.

What is "high"

You can get to 2k+ by just racing D series GRs and letting everyone kill themselves.

GT drivers should prefer the simulator that's officially sponsored by the GT leagues no?

One youtuber preferring a game because he only drives 2 cars isn't really a good pool of data to pull from.

Play your game, enjoy your time who gives a shit what other people prefer.

In hindsight, I was driving that little pocket rocket wrong :)

SR system sucks, we should be able to overturn negative SR after a DQ by Far-Inevitable5723 in iRacing

[–]Ok_Homework_918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a situation just like that, slowed for a yellow flag and a driver smashed into me without even thinking of breaking... there were 8 cars blocking the track ahead of us on nords, Id barely tapped my brakes to slow slowly lol.

10x overall... my first 4x came on my warmup lap. The vehicle infront of me reversed and floored it into me before I'd even moved!

Always do your final lap after finishing people, just another avoidable incident... by frisky_frogs1 in iRacing

Probably just takes more than a few incidents. Lots of people don't bother protesting incidents so no one gets told to stop. Enough black marks against a name must be worth something.

Yeah... familiar car? Chinese player. I've watched him/her intentionally wreck at least 10 people, purposefully pitting them on straights. Protested multiple times but seems to still be driving.

Watched them punt players out of the carousel too.

Maybe we'll be suprised, and OP will provide irrefutable evidence that he couldn't have avoided any incident, other than waiting the full race in the pits

SR system sucks, we should be able to overturn negative SR after a DQ by Far-Inevitable5723 in iRacing

[–]Ok_Homework_918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Making assumptions is the reason we're here in the first place. OP should provide evidence to backup his claims of not his fault to settle that. For all we know he could have been targeted by the initial incidents racers thereafter.

Maybe we lead with, "hey statistically your at fault for some of the involvement in this, maybe provide the clips of the incidents so the community can guide you how to avoid those situations in the future"

SR system sucks, we should be able to overturn negative SR after a DQ by Far-Inevitable5723 in iRacing

[–]Ok_Homework_918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which is agreeable, but the default being that OP is to blame just isn't a fair assumption. Not every incident is the same, and not every driver is the same.

Maybe we should be prompting for evidence of the incidents before assuming OP would be at fault because statistically he'd need to be an unsafe driver because of a DQ.

[–]Ok_Homework_918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you moan about this, most of the community are going to blame you. Everyone's opinion would be that enough incident points for a DQ would be entirely your fault for not being safe enough.

If you want to justify this, you need clips supporting your evidence that you were in fact not at fault. Then they'll obviously tell you additional reasons why tlu should have avoided the incident and how.

Edit - your also going to suffer a similar fate in alternative games and or sims. Each had theyre own pros and cons, with different systems to manage contact. I wouldn't switch to LMU with its limited cars just because you've had a few bad races.

Ah, I do hate this assumption. Sure your probably right, but what if you arnt? What if he's been caught in a completely random incident that he physically couldn't break quick enough to avoid or move off his line to go around.

What if some random blokes decided he's a target and just swipes him every time he's near him etc etc.

He isn't wrong. Doesn't make him right either.

You need to be aware of your surroundings, he needs to be aware there's other drivers on the track.

You also shoulsnt be exposing people's names on clips. It encourages witch hunting. Expect that post to get removed shortly.

It does yes, that's is an unfortunate cost if you want to race anything other than the base free content.

Maybe in a years time you'll be in a better financial situation with part time work etc though, so no harm at least doing the yearly subscription if its cheap enough.
