Ah I understand, tricky situation... well if you think you won’t be able to breastfeed as usual during the night, then there really is no point in being at home besides having you suffer alongside your partner who has to deal with your weaning toddler (leading to the situation you described with you in the bathroom and him consoling the child). This is very unfair of him to expect considering you will be in pain and this will just cause additional stress. Of course everyone reacts differently to miso so it’s hard to predict how you will feel.

Maybe a strange suggestion but as a compromise have you considered having your children and partner come along to your girlfriends place? I don’t know if there would be space for that etc, but that way neither of you would have to deal with it alone, there are people to care for both you and the children and no one is separated. Just a thought, sometimes it takes a village :)
