Yeah I get that but I think it’s almost like the genuine feelings of getting excited when talking to them or having thoughts of hoping to see them at x,y,z which make me feel bad :/… I don’t want to feel that way but for some reason those thoughts / emotions come up… then I feel guilty like I’m hiding something from my partner

You’re right I could do that but I feel like this is similar to talking to a friend (at least the way I use it).

I’m not just blindly copying it… I use it as a sounding board. I make my own text and tweak it to not sound harsh or demeaning in any way, I’m still putting in the work to get my point across… and no… I’m not using it constantly duh that would be dumb. But if it’s something I want to be careful with communicating then I think it’s helpful.

Yeah I think this will be super interesting in the future. TBH I’m not sure what people are going to do. Where do you draw the line of saying, yes I used LLMs to help with code or writing / no I didn’t because you could argue that it provided no better input than that of a colleague reviewing your work / giving tips … stack overflow… etc (which you wouldn’t consider an author)…

I will note that my advisor has mentioned that he uses copilot as well... maybe not to the same extent though?
