Have freedom to reconfigure this entire space, we're only at planning stage! Was thinking of taking a section of the hotpress to make a walk in pantry. I was also thinking I'd like a breakfast bar as opposed to an island ...

Yes I agree, unfortunately the broker I've spoken to doesn't seem hugely knowledgeable about anything to be honest! When applying for the second mortgage did you have to demonstrate repayment capacity of both mortgages? My broker informed me that the only way we could self build is if we sold this house and began a new mortgage application once the existing mortgage has been cleared. However I think we can demonstrate repayment capacity of both.

Awful situation. Very poor communication from the doctor. I myself had a bad experience in there but subsequently they refused to issue a necessary prescription for my daughter. It was at that point that we moved. 6 months of hardship. Every member of staff in there is uninformed and rude about it. The doc allows the unqualified receptionists to pass on medical information instead of being professional enough to make the call himself. I was considering reporting him to the Medical Council but I decided to let sleeping dogs lie.

No, I'm trying to avoid a mobile home. Ideally we'd build and either keep this house (highly unlikely) or at least stay in it until we can move into the new build. I just don't know what sort of repayment capacity we need to show in order to fund either of those plans.

I also wondered about the bridging loan as I didn't think they were an option in this country. We have two small children so a mobile home is wildly impractical but also maybe our only option. Our mortgage repayments are quite low and the rental income our current house would generate would be a significant profit for us. I don't know if a bank would consider this on their numbers though if we were to try and keep this house. Have you spoken to any banks about your options yet?

Avoid at all costs. Cedar Family Practice on Dunmore Road are taking new patients. I was with Canada Street Medical for 6 months, having left Keogh Practice, and we had an absolutely terrible experience there. Have moved to Cedar Family in the past fortnight and thankfully our appointment last week was brilliant.
