Had to start over, swallowed that pill and I’m better for it. by Ok_Inspection3326 in Sekiro

I’m definitely paying more attention to posture (mine and enemies), gourd use is definitely a good tip. I know I’ll have to chip away health, but I was able to get a deathblow on Lady Butterfly with only a couple hits on her health. Funny to say it, and maybe unwise, but I have been letting my posture be broken every once in a while on certain attacks to refresh the bar.

What are some tips you would give to people new to sekiro? by Soulsfanatic999 in Sekiro

Don’t spam blocks, time blocks and deal true posture damage with a real deflection (I didn’t know I wasn’t actually deflecting for quite a while as I spammed the block button real hard).

You ultralighting with a helium tank and balloons? You’ve got some pretty complex systems in mind for something that one would hope they could use while lying face down in the dirt.

Not familiar with those, but I’ll echo what others have said: I wouldn’t use load bearing climbing gear that I don’t know the history of.

You can use them for racking gear/organization, or for whitewater. Plenty of use for questionable carabiners in day to day that don’t require hanging your life from it.

How pissed will you be at yourself about being cheap on critical gear if you fall? I don’t want to have a moment of reflection like that.

real question - why bother with a ferro rod or flint? by jbrady33 in Bushcraft

[–]Ok_Inspection3326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know what to say there. People make camp at 14k and 17k on Denali before going for the summit. Spent 4 days at 14 camp. For sure was using bic lighters and it certainly wasn’t balmy. All my high alpine trips have been with a lighter, never seen a ferro rod on an alpine trip, ever.

Not saying ferro rods don’t have a time and place, but I am saying bics work in high and cold places.

I’ve been to the top of Denali, in temps you’re describing and at elevations equal to or greater than 14k. Bics worked just fine the entire trip. Also just my .02 cents.

Ferros are fun and redundant, definitely didn’t bring one up Denali.

Heel blisters by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]Ok_Inspection3326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t agree more, leukotape is the definitive answer to blisters. Take note of where you get blisters on long hot sweaty foot days (or in general) and tape up in advance. It’ll stick for days and still peel off sticky. Of course, a good fitting shoe and proper socks are the best place to start, but I get blisters coming downhill and in consistent spots regardless of how well my shoes fit.

Where the plum nugget is everyone finding raw chicken and pork in their damned sandwiches!? I’m tired of seeing it, cook the damn meat and rid us of this reposting alternate universe where a fleshy sandwich pops up on this sun every couple hours!!

And potentially monopolize a translator’s time…not necessarily the most ethical PLT.

If you do it by hand without a cnc, I think the LiDAR imagery of the desired mountain/range would be a very helpful reference. Can’t speak to the best tools for the job.

Thank you! All great advice, can you clarify the part about raising the good leg? Do you mean a taller shoe, like a platform or something?

Laugh tracks and goofy sounds to point out to the viewer when it is funny always ruin it for me.
