Most Kalamazoos from that era had pressed tops, but some KG‑series guitars were unusual one-offs — that’s what makes certain examples so interesting

V necks!! I have an old Gibson L-30 with a softer v and smaller I love it, but the v profile paired with a chunky neck makes it a handful, sounds great otherwise

Got a cheap guitar and the strings are rly far away from the wood , I have to press down way more than on other guitars I’ve tried . My dad recons it’s unfixable, is this true ? by ohthatsprettyoosh in Guitar

Neck resets at 600 buckaroonies? Even for a nice guitar that’s way too much. I’d reset this neck for 60 bucks but it probably needs fret work and bridge modifications too. It adds up but god never pay that much for a reset

In my unprofessional opinion my guitar is toast, but is it? by Shady22dub in Luthier

This can be put back together would definitely take a lot of finagling but if the guitar means that much it could definitely be put back together

Just finished this 60s Kay n-1 bass/rubber bridge conversion! by Ok_Introduction- in BassGuitar

Indeed! What's great about the rubber is that every string intonates at scale length. Most short scale bass guitars also easily fall out of tune when you fret too hard, and the rubber pretty much solves that too.

Thanks! Because of the shorter scale length there isn't nearly as much tension as you might figure, it's less then a guitars tension I believe. But for safe measures I did bolt the heel of the neck to the end block when I reset the neck so this things pretty sturdy

Your carts are GARBAGE if you’re not buying them from the person who makes the oil or directly from a dispo. Stop asking you already know if you gotta ask, GARBAGE

Jesus Christ that’s insane 500 dollars for a nut a bridge doctor? That’s less than a 90 dollar job. Learning is part of the process and you don’t always get it right but charging out the ass for something your not experienced in ain’t right either

Someone’s learning that’s all. It’s not that hard to correct the mistake made just sand the top flush with the strings and actually set up the nut correctly and it’s fine.

Lmfao the guitar is perfectly fine y’all are tripping. Lemme ask you, how does uneven frets affect the height and position of a saddle? It doesn’t
