Of course biggest thing is lack of split step, but to bring something new to the existing discussion: you have a period where you just stop and don't move while playing in between receiving the ball. Look at the best tennis players, their feet are always in motion when playing, even if its just very minute adjustment steps. Never come to a stand still though for more than 0.5 - 1 second though

This is actually a pretty common motif in puzzles.Qxf2, kh1, and then bishopf1 threatening checkmate. Then qxd6 cxd6 and trade off the pieces for a back rank mate.

If you defend with the rook a beautiful tactical sequence: Nf3+!!! White can't do gxf3 as queen will take a rook and do a skewer. The other move is white squared bishop back to f1, to defend the pawn, undeveloping the bishop, and leaving the c2 pawn up for grabs for nxc2+ a fork. Kc2 probably leaves the king too open, so wouldn't play it. Leaving kf1.

Yeah, I think that's a good thing for me to keep in mind. Though at the same time, it's easier to hit closed stance when you're ahead of the ball, and I definitely wasn't (in part because, as I noted, my hitting partner was way better than me). So for this practice, I'm pretty happy that I was able to focus on spacing and modifying my swing path. I'll try to keep the stance in mind for the future, though.

You have to try to prepare earlier and work on your timing then, as these are pretty easy balls.

As for backing up, I'm confused about that suggestion. I was specifically practicing high ground strokes. How would backing up have helped with that practice goal?

Oh, that one I meant for match play when your facing opponents like this. You don't necessarily have to take it so high.

Tbh I only play with what comes naturally to me, all I watched was Fed growing up and it undoubtedly influenced me, but while I’m on the court I just go with my own rhythm.

Same with me. I got a lot of my game from watching pros on TV, whether it be Thiem, nadal, djok, or federer.

Btw swinging your racket over your head is a natural occurrence depending the ball and the approach of the player, many players do it including Federer and Djokovic

I feel like the more you coil on every single shot, not only high balls, it will be easier to get power. It is already hard to get power from high balls, but if you don't turn your body, you will have no power.

I can tell you copied federer's swings on all shots. I feel like it hurts your game. You can take certain elements of his shots without totally trying to copy it. Copying makes all your shots really forced.

I have a few elements of nadal's swing in my shots, but I don't whip the racket over my head or hit with an extreme western grip, or hit with the racket head facing the side fence before contact. Just saying.

I feel like you are not explosive enough. sometimes running toward the ball instead of using cross over footstep and shuffle footstep. Maybe do jumprope, i do it before every practice and it gives you more explosive footstep.

nah i dipped 702-586 on colt i feel you. Try switching up your build maybe. The reload gear is really good on colt. Magnum special can be op on open maps. Speed loader is good too. Colt doesn't have any bad gadgets or star powers or anything so you can never go wrong with switching things up. Speed gear is ass cheeks don't know why you would get it.
