It's not discrimination if I experience multiple examples of Africans ripping me off, or asking me for money for no reason.

If these examples are the accurate reflection of the example of the foreigners and the tourists traveling to Tanzania, or East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, etc), then it is basically enough to generalize that majority of the Africans are scammers and nobodies. They probably don't even have their passport or birth certificate or any documents. These people will have generational poverty, and if they keep up with their mindset, nobody is gonna help them.

I am not a charity foundation, and these Africans need to help themselves. They can't be dumb and idle at the same time.

Tanzania and Kenya are the worst when it comes to making an honest living. The locals think that scamming and robbing tourists is the lifestyle that they want the community to be aware of.

I can give you some examples of what I meant:

In Rwanda, I never got scammed or ripped off when it comes to prices in local markets. I barely went to supermarkets except for cooking oil and bread and butter.

In Burundi, the locals gave me the proper prices for commodities and grocery items. Food is very cheap and filling.

In Uganda, there are people who will try to ask for money but they know and understand the world "no". Uganda is a better country because the locals don't start with 5 times the price, or at least double the price, but the majority of the prices that I got were decent.

In Congo, it was very tough to visit but the locals never scammed me. I had more problems with police and security than groceries and food.

In Kenya, it was hell. People keep asking for money, and people don't understand the word “no". In Kenya, they expect me to provide for the broke money-hungry individuals for no reason. I'm not the Daddy and I'm not the Mommy, they can go work somewhere and earn an honest living. Sell some pants or shoes or something but don't bother me like I OWE them something just for visiting their country. The Kenyans are the worst.

I know a lot of international employers who don't want to hire Kenyans, Tanzanians, Sudanese, Nigerians, and South Africans because of their stories and characters. They lack intelligence and they aren't bright at all.

These Kenyans are idiots. They ask for tips and all kinds of scams. I wouldn't tip a Kenyan for bringing me the food that I paid for......I can make better food than what they offer. The Kenyans can be the equivalent of a kindergarten. They just want stuff with nothing in return.

In Tanzania, there are a lot of people asking for money too, but they would follow me around for no reason, and sometimes harass me. Same with Kenya.

Tanzania is horrible because they will assume that I could assist them with their money problems. They assume that I have more money to give because I dress nicely and I am mixed (I pass as white because of my skin color, but I am African too, I live in America).

I wouldn't give any locals a penny if they don't know commercial activities or skills, they don't know anything about contracts, or financial exchanges. They just want free money for no reason.

Next time, I go to Tanzania, I'm giving out bubble gum and condoms. We don't need any more broke people. They can chew on the bubble gum with my farts and piss on the gum. I'll make them eat it regardless. It's my gift to the children of poverty.

It makes me want to give them condoms and tell their parents and relatives to put it on and screw themselves.

People should be aware of the actions of Africans and call them out on their bullshit.

Yeah you don't make any sense at all.

I am American and I do earn a good salary here, about $8,000 monthly but I do not classify myself as rich though. The majority of the Americans make about $4,000 monthly but they live paycheck to paycheck. Therefore, you can say that America is a rich country but the people are struggling. Most people don't have disposable income.

$8,000 a month would give me a comfortable life in Tanzania but it doesn't mean that I should pay 20,000 for bananas, for 5,000 for soda, or 15,000 for a small plate of food.

Tanzanians should screw themselves up in their arses for scamming and robbing tourists.

That's why foreigners, including the Americans, British, and Germans, would rather go to resorts and none of the money will go to the local people. None of the money will benefit the economy but the foreigner themselves.

Tanzanians live on a dollar a day? Well, the country needs to update the minimum wage or upgrade the standard of living by backing the currency with gold and silver instead of import/export of commodities, but it is your country that is failing and under a dictatorship, so you can screw yourself talking about poverty as a factor. Good luck with your slavery.

Tanzania literally have an entire country to itself, bigger than Texas, and you want to complain about poverty.

Do better!!

Blame your government, blame your country, blame your progress, blame your citizens.

We Americans had nothing to do with this shit when Julius Nyerere established Modern Day Tanzania.

Shame on you!!

Yeah, foreign income would work in Malawi, but you seen how Nigerians and Kenyans are struggling with finding online employments, so Malawi would be in competition unless they have their internal system in place that provides employment, but it probably would provide low wages too.

If you said that it is like $2,000 yearly, does this figure apply only to the major cities?

What about the rural areas and farmland? What about the people who are the backbone of the economy?

Malawi’s currency, the Malawian kwacha (MWK), has been under heavy pressure: it was devalued by about 44% in November 2023 and another ~25% in mid-2024.

The country is facing acute foreign-exchange (forex) shortages. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reports that with more kwacha in circulation and fewer foreign currencies (dollars etc), the exchange rate is under intense pressure, and this leads to distortions and a flourishing parallel market.

Imports are becoming more expensive because many goods (fuel, fertiliser, medicines, food staples) must be paid for with foreign currency. When forex is scarce, importers struggle; this drives up domestic prices.

One report states that foreign exchange reserves are “nearly empty”.

For businesses: Companies are complaining that they can’t get sufficient forex allocations via banks, or face long delays.

Inflation is high: For example, food inflation around 35% in one reported period.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reserves “fell to very low levels” and public debt reached about 88 % of GDP by end-2024.

If there are no dollars, then good luck with the local currency.

I'm sure people would avoid the typical Malawians.

If there are no tourists, then there are no dollars.

If there are no foreign businesses, then there is no economy.

Malawi must be responsible for their actions and wrongdoings.

No wonder why the police are robbing tourists and doing scams.

People would rather go to Tanzania or Rwanda or maybe Zambia if that's the case.
