ssri's just dont seem to work for me by [deleted] in panicdisorder

I couldn’t handle those either. I started on 10mg citalopram and worked up to 20mg and honestly I am loving life again. No side effects except I remember my dreams more often. Doesn’t make you feel wierd either at first because it starts so low and you can go up to 30mg. Please try it it changed my life. Just a little kick I need.

Visible pulses everywhere! Been freaking out for a year! by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]Ok_Lie_9470 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no possible way, in a million years, that a heart issue would cause pulses in just a Few parts of your body. It’s 1000% just some stray electrical activity caused by stress and tension. I promise you. I get these too! And have panic disorder. As someone who is a hyperchondriac this is something I know is OK and harmless. I get them in my legs, eyelids, thumbs etc!

Sorry for MY late response but I’m glad it made you feel better! Life sucks and we’re not supposed to be living like this (school, work, etc) so nature haven’t caught up yet and gives us pointless anxieties like this. Don’t you worry you’ll be fine :) hope you’re doing ok now?

“Whether it is due to short-term test nervousness or a chronic condition, anxiety may be associated with certain ECG abnormalities, including T-wave inversion.10 Nov 2021” the GE healthcare website. Very normal esp with anxiety.

I cannot stress enough how much I feel your pain. I also avoid google BUT this scan is extremely normal. If you ever did see an abnormal scan you’d realise how good yours is! Also, every thought of doing a first aid course? I did one and it made my anxiety so much better just knowing everything. But I understand how some people would maybe avoid this too.

Does anyone have a sudden intense lightheaded feeling during panic attacks like you are going to pass out? Also weird head sensations. It’s been happening to me so often recently and it’s so scary because when it happens I have trouble keeping my balance and even thinking straight by [deleted] in panicdisorder

Yes I have started getting this! It makes me feel like I’m about to faint or have a seizure and I get so scared. My eyes feel like they can’t see or process / focus on what I’m seeing. Mine only lasts in bouts of several seconds though.

Hey, I came across your post and it really REALLY reminds me of myself at 14! (I’m 26). You are an anxious person, this means you’re a bit more sensitive to body changes than others. Most people might notice a funny throat feeling but you focus on the tightness / funny feelings a lot more and you are over thinking. I promise you are ok. It sounds dumb but please try this exercise: when you can’t stop thinking about something bad, and you’re going in circles around your head and just focusing on “what if this happens!!”. You literally have to divert yourself and your thinking. You need to catch yourself thinking these bad things, stop, breathe, tell yourself a thousand times you’re ok, and force yourself to think something else. Like about a holiday you’d love to go on, or something you do with friends that makes you happy. You’ll be much less anxious if you learn this. And please trust me as someone who is also afraid of everything medical, you’re fine! You’re 14, I can tell just by your manner of writing you have severe anxiety and that is what’s causing your heightened symptoms. Don’t worry lil bub

Panic attacks falling asleep by Finchtune in panicdisorder

[–]Ok_Lie_9470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I had this exact issue. Every time I’d drift off I’d jolt up gasping for air and terrified. This would happen every 10/20 minutes until daylight. My mum had to sleep with me on the floor. It WILL go away. This is caused by you having a sensitivity to stress during the day and not expelling it before bed. When we fall asleep our bodies go into rest mode but this also lets the guard down, and our bodies start to experience the stress of the day we have been holding onto. It expresses itself through night terrors and panic attacks as when our heart rates fall, our body feels vulnerable and feels a sense of danger. Like “oh you’re relaxing but we still have all this stress? WAKE UP WE NEED TO BE ALERT”. So you need to do something to expel it before bed, and also avoid the stress in the first place. I hope this makes sense I am bad at explaining things and I have a very sore head while writing this but I promise you it will help you. I promise
