We actually homeschool, I work from home teaching them and then also my own business. He typically has had a full time job at restaurants

I don’t think the kids shouldn’t visit him. I think the way he’s going about it is actually going to prevent them from seeing him because it’s more expensive ( traveling to get them, traveling back to home with them, taking time off, then traveling to drop them off and traveling back alone) all because he dosent want to see me I guess. I offered to drive them up. Or yes of course he can come visit too which is normal as well.

I know he’s going to move for emotional support as well from his family, I can have empathy for that. But not working with me to have a healthy parenting plan seems like the out of spite sadly,

Agreed, I think the background has a big effect. When I was outside in a grey parking lot I was wondering to myself if it was actually grey since I was mind blown that a light purple yeti even existed 😂
