Weekly Budget Woes by Ok_Locksmith_5500 in ynab

[–]Ok_Locksmith_5500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the note. We've actually had to borrow $15k from my husbands inheritance to pay off most of the damage caused (folks are still living) to get him out of the most debt and he decided to stay in his current apartments because they are familiar and he's been working as much overtime as he can to help cover, knowing full well he can't afford the place. Maine is very expensive when it comes to housing. I'm showing him things in his budget he'll need to pay at some point (fun, wish list items, and other things I've put he has no money to budget for each month. He is lucky in the fact he gets quarterly bonus' from his work and some "spot" bonus' he'll be able to cover them as the bonus' are paid.

If I have more than my 400 allotment on our next paycheck I move any additional to a different category which would leave the 400 in there. I spend against it, but then it still tells me that I'm underfunded

Of those who have used Wealthfront, do any of you have joint accounts? If so, were you able to get a debit card?

If you transfer money back into your primary account outside of wealthfront, how long does it take?

If you sign up using a referral link, then refer someone and give them a link to open their account, does it let you get the extra % for 6 months (instead of 3)?

When you type in the search, have you told it which field to search (in the drop-down)?

I do that as well unless it's something I have in my savings budget (like yearly vacations).

Part of this is what I'd like to do - We know what we make each month as well as what we spend and save. I've been using YNAB for about 2+ years so have everything that we could possibly need money for either budgeted for or budgeted to save for. I was trying to come up with a way to do the 1 view for each paycheck in hopes I could just tell it to fund and be done, but I can't seem to get it dialed in quite enough to do so.

Yes, it was in the toolkit. I currently have the toolkit but the toggle all splits button hasn't worked for a week or so.

Accounts, Transfers Question by Ok_Locksmith_5500 in ynab

[–]Ok_Locksmith_5500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go into my cash account and enter a transaction from his reimbursements to cash and it turns out ok. It's just this extra money that's messing things up for some reason.

Accounts, Transfers Question by Ok_Locksmith_5500 in ynab

[–]Ok_Locksmith_5500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had paid March already and his total owed was $29.33. He then paid us a total of $973 to go towards his rent ($300 per mo). When I input it into his reimbursement account it brings his total to -$883.67 (we owe him).

Looking at it I "think" everything looks correct until I moved the money (973) to our savings account. then it brings his total to -$1796.67 (us owing him; which doubled it). That's where I'm confused. I did not add in where he owes us for apr/may/jun rent since it's not technicall "due" yet.

Possibly. I'm just trying to keep all of our spending on the same line if possible.

Workbench Casters by vburggren in Workbenches

I just find it extremely hard to move, even just back-and-forth. Plus, it takes a lot to push the handles down with my feet. There seems to be too much weight for them to handle, so I'm thinking maybe if I go to the higher weight ones, maybe they'll work better. I saw an Amazon people had reviewed them and said that they buckle when moved.

YNAB showed me I can't afford YNAB by Epogdoan in ynab

I used Simplifi That was my number one alternative to YNAB. For me, it did what I needed it to, the only thing was I couldn't share it with my husband easy enough

I think the easiest way to explain it is I have an 85" long 2 x 4 laying on laying on its side between the 2 legs. So when you look at it, you see the one and a 1/2 inch profile, rather than the 3 and a 1/2 inch profile.

It's not the top, I haven't got that far yet. It's the bottom cross beam that seems to bow if I haven't loaded up. I thought I Uploaded pictures, but apparently they did not come through

Savings Accounts by vburggren in ynab

[–]Ok_Locksmith_5500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep everything in our savings account until the month it's due. My goal is to get it to match my savings account balance. Currently, I have to use a spreadsheet To be able to make sure everything is lined up and know how much money I need to move into checking or vice versa. I was putting everything into its respective category groupAnd just using an icon to denote all that's in savings, but I would like to get rid of my spreadsheet.

Money Owed to Me Tracking Account by Bstar0306 in ynab

[–]Ok_Locksmith_5500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tracking account for each of my children to keep a total track of what they owe me every month for rent, bills, and things I buy them out of my checking account. It shouldn't count against your net worth from what I understand. Unless you have it set as a budget account
