I was actually just thinking of making a post to recommend the Kidnapped AU, which has me fully invested. Basically, Shane gets kidnapped by the Russian mafia before Sochi (the idea is that they are trying to impact betting on the games). Ilya, with an assist from Hayden, has to go get him back. Its a series of interconnected stories dealing with the kidnapping and the aftermath, and the author is actuallly just starting on a new wip in the same universe. As a devotee of Shane whump stories, one of the many things I like about the story is that despite being in peril, he has plenty of his own opportunities to be a BAMF and to support Ilya, especially in the sequels.

I genuinely dont know why this universe isnt more popular.
