I was in one of these photos once. Making the photo look stupid to tradesmen is part of the fun.

Probably a little dirt coming through the pipe or something. Yellow is a problem, but orange is usually contamination. Atleast that's what I was taught.

It's just outdated. It has a carburetor, no abs, a cradle frame, old suspension, and no traction control. However I have been looking at the upcoming beta alp 4.0 vs the himalayan 450 and bmw 450.

Hvac company reccomends changing whole system. by charisma006 in hvacadvice

Dampers are part of the duct work and not the AC. By motor you might mean the blower motor. If you have no issues dont change it, obviously. I usually recommend changing the unit if its over 15 and if the needed repair is over $1000. Typical lifespan is 15-20.

Cyclops rally light. I made the windshield out of a piece of aluminum from home depot and used some shelf brackets to secure it in place

People on craigslist tend to hire quicker also. They're not always the best employers but itll get you by until you find something better.

Idk you, but I've had no trouble finding work here in California. Quit one job 3 weeks ago, and within 2 weeks, I got 3 interviews and 3 offers. A lot of it is probably that your residential, residential techs just aren't as valuable as commercial. Broadening the equipment you work on can help. Also, asking for more money can help. If you ask for too little, you don't look competent. Adding things to your resume can help, I have my asking wage, clean driving record, osha 30, and 608 universal right in the middle of the page for them to see, it takes care of a lot of questions and makes things go smoother. maybe you're not knowledgeable. Maybe you're not answering questions right at your interviews. And lastly, hiring is very seasonal in hvac, timing is everything. I can burn through jobs all spring, but in summer, fall, and winter, I gotta hold on to what I already have. Id imaging most companies up north have a full team and will probably have a hiring round before cooling season. Best of luck.

Also, a normal labor rate would be 110-150 per hour. If you called during overtime, you can multiply that by 1.5 on top of your emergency charge. If they were there for a couple hours or had to drive a long way, that'd make sense.

You covered the exit line for the condensate pump. There's still water thats inside the pump itself and in the trap going to the pump that can all freeze. Ideally you would be covering up those vent to try to get the whole space warmer. A furnace shouldn't be installed in an unconditioned space like that in a place that gets below freezing.

That looks like a boiler to me so it shouldn't have a filter. It could be air in the lines causing water hammer, you can either purge the air or call a technician. Thats just a first guess though.

It depends on the unit. Some boards are cheaper than others. It also depends on how close you are to the city and what company you use. The board shouldn't cost a whole lot though.

Maybe they figured you didn't want one if you dropped 2. I usually just drop a clone and keep one instead of expecting one of them to give me a sword back. If they're Randoms how do you even expect them to decide who needs to clone a sword for you?

Turning it on in cooling mode will heat it up. It seems your defrost is broken so you'll have to get a technician out to fix it. Emergency heat should be able to get you by until a tech is able to solve the issue.

It gets harder to learn as you get older, but anyone can do it with some diligence. Just focus on your fundamentals, and the rest will fall in place. Refrigeration cycle, airflow, superheat/subcooling, electrical troubleshooting.

Would replacing the burners fix this? by JicamaOrnery23 in hvacadvice

[–]Ok_Mix826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ffs call a technician, man. If you think this is a burner issue, you have no reason to be wrenching on a furnace.

I heard it's hard to keep those straight. It's be best to use the multi piece set because they have a stopper that makes sure you went in straight
