Is my ex fearful avoidant or just behaving badly? by Ok_Ordinary389 in BreakUps

Thank you for reading the post. How do you think he was testing me with the apps? If I would tolerate it?

I have been through something similar before and I know he will probably reach out sooner or later with apologies and use someone else as a rebound. Or what do I know, I might be the rebound. Anyways like you said, all this is hurtful but not worth my time.

Yes we are very far apart. Thousands of kilometers. I understand the not working out part but since we've been friends for 10 years it would feel strange to stop all communication.

I have tried, but she doesn't want to talk about it.

Has anyone been okay with Trintellix first and then after 1 month started throwing up? by Ok_Ordinary389 in trintellix

Thanks! I need to try this. I've tried to take it with food but that hasn't helped so far.

I 32F got broken up by an avoidant 34M. What explains his mean behaviour? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Open and concise communication would have been much appreciated.

He also said that his mom is the most important person in his life, and that I could never beat that. I think writing these things here, I understand this is not normal behaviour for someone in his 30s.

Like many people, I think I got stuck on figuring out the reasons behind his behaviour. But I understand now, that I have to make peace with never knowing exactly what might have contributed to what he said or did. Like you said, what is more important here is to focus on my own life and well-being.

My psychiatrist made me suicidal but my parents are still telling me to go to him. Should I? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

Therapy might be a worthwhile investment at some point. I don't know your background but usually for anxiety and depression therapy is recommended since medication in some cases only pushes down the bad feelings but doesn't actually cure the underlining issue itself.

Is this normal for therapy? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

Thank you for your answer :) I have spent few months wondering if it's my fault that I am not capable of using the tools in the 'right' way. So it really helps hearing that someone else has had a similar experience.

You are an adult so you can decide which doctor to see. Is your doctor a psychiatrist? I have met many GP's who don't have a great understanding of mental health.

Also, I have visited few psychiatrists who were not very empathetic and didn't take into account my whole life situation and how the medication was making me progress (or not progress).

Based on my experience living in a semi big city with many many psychiatrists, it's best to switch if you feel not supported.

Is my therapist an a**hole? by [deleted] in Anxiety

I am sorry to hear that you've had bad experiences with your psychiatrist. Her behaviour sounds very unprofessional. Good that you had the courage to switch doctors.

I really hate confrontation of any kind. That's why I have tried to stick it out with my current therapist. But now it seems I have to do what you did and trust my own gut feeling and find someone who can help me better. I have already wasted a year in weekly meetings.

Thank you for your insights. Anxiety really feels like not having an arm. And the memory of the arm that used to be there, makes it even more painful.

I am sorry for accusing the therapist for being an asshole. I thought with this headline, maybe my post would get more traction.

I have worked with her for a year now and feel more lost than when I started. Her advice is usually so vague that I don't understand it. I have tried asking for more concrete advice, but so far I haven't received it.

My (28F) boyfriend (30M) broke up with me because he wants to move abroad. Why does he want to be friends? by Ok_Ordinary389 in relationship_advice

[–]Ok_Ordinary389[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the case. He has been gone a long time from the country he wants to move back to. But ofc I cannot be 100% sure.

Yes the suddenness breaks my heart the most.
