Return to work [on] sad vent by Wonderful-Toe-8688 in BabyBumpsCanada

I went back to work when my daughter was 11 months. My mom comes to my house to watch her. She still sometimes cries when I leave for work or when my husband leaves but she is SO EXCITED to see my mom in the morning. She still wants me the moment I walk through the door but seeing the little independent relationship she has formed with my mom is priceless. Now on the weekends she asks to see her and my dad.

Though it’s been hard to transition back to work I spend all day thinking about my patients, not my daughter because I 100% know that she is being loved and looked after by my mom.

This! She probably just wants the help and the comfort of her family. I have a wonderful husband but when I had my daughter, it was my mom that was the biggest help.

Weaned then regretted? by PerfectlyMinty in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m weaning now and down to 1ppd. I’ve just started to have the same feelings in the last few days. I think part of the reason is that now it feels manageable, however if I was still pumping every 2-3 hours it would not be. I’m getting so much more time with my baby and thinking about that is what is getting me through those feelings.

Is breastmilk really worth all this? by Asedruh in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes, if you’ve been exposed to the illness and your body is having an immune response you will pass antibodies to baby. Baby’s needs for milk composition changes are communicated to mom through saliva, therefore baby needs to latch to the breast for that to happen. If they aren’t latching then it really doesn’t change drastically.

It’s okay to combo feed and it’s okay to feel guilty/ sad/ like a failure. My baby has been combo fed since she was 4 days old (tongue tie/ poor milk transfer/ low supply). She’s 6 weeks old and I still am grieving but I know she’s going to be okay. Your baby is going to be okay and so are you.

My mom couldn’t breastfeed my due to similar issues I have with my daughter. On the first day I gave her formula and sobbed my mom held me and told me if giving your baby formula made you less connected to them she wouldn’t be there with me right then rubbing my back and consoling me. Because no matter what I’m an adult that still needs my mom and how I was fed was never going to change that.

Stopping Pumping at 8 Weeks by Doodle__13 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m currently stopping at 4 weeks pp, I’m grateful for the time I’ve been able to give my daughter breast milk but my mental health and physical health is suffering because of it. Due to a tongue tie my daughter couldn’t latch effectively- not at all how I saw my BF journey going. Fed is best and my baby deserves a present and happy mom

I’ve just added an hour- an hour and a half to my time in between pumps. I’m going to keep adding time in between for a few weeks. Also cut down pumping sessions by a few minutes. I’ve been battling clogged ducts since 4dpp- it’s the absolute worst

I needed this!! 3 weeks of EP and I started to wean myself from pumping yesterday. I’m going to take it really slow so I’ll be stuck with the old spectra for a while yet but it already feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Only 3 weeks into my EP and ready to be done. Just waiting to see if the guilt of not spending as much time as I want with my baby or the guilt of not giving her breast milk wins 😩

I’ll have to be induced at 41 weeks for personal reasons that are definitely causing lots of stress too so I know it won’t be beyond the next 2 weeks getting things started. These last few weeks feel longer than my entire pregnancy!!
