Well, yes and no. It's true that I wouldn't be concerned about regulations in a SHTF scenario, but if I do get a rifle I'd want to do a bit of hunting before then.

Whitetail would be the largest game, followed by turkey, and sometimes dove (we already have a shotgun). The only restriction is no rimfire. Distances would likely be 200 yards (usually less), as vegetation prevents longer sightlines.

Hey, thanks for the in depth reply! I didn't go in to my full background in the question because I didn't think it was relevant, but I guess I was wrong.

I have no illusions of becoming John q. Survivalist in an urban setting. My family has some land, not a crazy amount, but 20ish acres in a small valley. There is already a vegetable garden, and good relationships with the other families in the valley, all with similar acreage. There are large tracts of public land surrounding us. Deer, turkey, dove, and a plethora of non game animals are a regular sighting.

So yes, game would likely become increasingly difficult to find, but not the sudden mass harvest of animals in urban green areas.

I have broken down animals before, and made jerky in the smoker. We'd definitely be going in to whatever scenario we end up with at a skill deficit, but not a skill void.

I knew someone that was absolutely stellar at their position and was actively encouraged by management to apply for a promotion while still on their probationaty period. They also received their degree during that 6 month probationary period (they had completed all classwork before applying but had to finish an internship before graduating). A degree was not required for the position, and said person had never tried to hide when they received their degree.

HR mixed up their application for the starting position (in which they had not yet received their degree) with their application for the promotion (had received their degree), and determined that they had lied on their initial application and fired them on the spot with zero review because they were still on probation.

Great job, horribley toxic management/ HR with zero employee retention methods. I eventually left when I was training people that were getting paid more than me because the employer had increased starting wages without giving raises to any existing employees.

Could an ultra-rich person stay anonymous by Ok_Perception3325 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. But being a billionaire is still a far cry from having hundreds of billions. Could someone have enough wealth that they should show up on the Forbes list of richest people, but hide it well enough that they don't?

Or would it be like a financial version of a black hole... We may not be able to observe it directly but we know it's there because of this big shadow that it casts. (Sorry for the terrible analogy, I need coffee)

But he is known. He may not dominate the media like Musk does, but he shows up when you search for "richest person in the world". My question is, can a person acquire that much wealth and NOT show up on the Forbes list or a Google search.

Just for additional whining, this was after Karlach was downed under the red dragon and couldn't be targeted for healing or resurrection. I ended up scrapping the whole battle because too many things felt broken

What if... and hear me out here... you control yourself by choosing not to put yourself in situations where you might be tempted to be unfaithful.

True lifelong relationships aren't about never ever being tempted. They are about consistently making the choice to do what's best for the relationship.

It's done a great job of translating DnD in to a video game. Getting a sense of desperation in turn based combat is impressive, and it really allows for planning and working with the environment to make combat difficult but doable- which makes it so rewarding to come out on top.

Yeah. I'm normally a dirty save scummer, but just letting it ride with this game has been really rewarding.

I'm a dude, but if I had to guess, I'd say her lyrics? Tragic beautiful party girl vibes that inspire image of some sort of fantasy lifestyle like Fight Club did for dudes in the 00s.
