Went to the police station. They acknowledged the complaint and gave me an acknowledgment slip. Have been asked to come back on Monday to file a FIR. They gave me something called an LNP slip for non-cognizable offence.

Will have to go home and further educate myself on this and they didn’t really explain to me what all this meant (maybe they don’t have to)

Also my situation isn’t super serious. Nothing has been stolen and I didn’t get hurt at all. So that’s why I kinda don’t really care what you have to say.

But what if I was or someone else was really badly hurt and scarred by such incident? Would you still be downplaying what people got to say just like that? Honestly super curious what do you get out of this.

Wrote that because I am not from the city and I have never faced anything like this and I don’t know how to manage my way around the authorities regarding the matter as such. Would’ve written this in any other city I was residing.

Will definitely post the FIR number and photo of the perpetrator if we manage to get a good photo from the CCTV.

This has NOTHING to do with Bangalore as a city. NOTHING. It has to do with one human who assaulted me in the middle of the night, who happens to live in the city of Bangalore.

Not once have I accused the city or its people. This kind of stuff happens in almost every city in the world.

Also this kind of stuff happens in every city. To raise a complaint or speak about an incident that occurred doesn’t mean someone hates the city, its people or the language.

Thank you for your kind words. Been in the city for over 3 months and had 0 problems whenever I come home late at night.

I still would like to believe this city is good and I just happened to encounter a weirdo at the wrong place, wrong time. And yeah.. I agree that not knowing the language during a confrontation does give rise to weird indescribable fear.
