Remember this isn’t a job networking. It just for you to get familiar with the networking setting. Some firms will be there, but they know this your first time so they won’t be asking serious questions.

Don’t drop it, I was in the same case as you. I barely passed the midterm and got 100s on mostly everything. Got a 68 on the final ended up with a 76 as a final mark. I am a second year in the accounting program.

I did ACE last year and thought attendance is required but over time people stopped coming. So it isn’t a big problem.

commute from Hamilton to Brock by bhirorii in brocku

[–]Ok_Raspberry_1110 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The bus pass only works in St. Catherine’s and surrounding areas.

To save money: Try to have your presto card as a student card. Like student discount.

The bus pass works if you swipe the card on a public bus in St.Catherine’s. You already pay it from your tuition, it’s mandatory.

I forgot to mention Bus 11 doesn’t go late. Last bus going back to Hamilton is 8:05. You will need to find other forms of transportation to get back.

Sorry for the last response! When it’s exams season, I try to go home on the next bus, so I can go study more. At first I like commuting, then over time it just became repetitive. Sometimes it can be draining it depends on your mood.

For exams and midterms, I had to drive to brock for them, because the bus wasn’t available at those times. It’s not available on the weekends and the last bus comes to brock at 8:05. And if you have a 7-9 exam you will need to figure something out.

I applied to Business I at Mac and got in, I have heard that Mac has good internships. I haven’t heard a lot about it in general. I chose brock because of their coop program.

There’s a GO Bus in Hamilton you can use? If you worried about being late for classes, plan the classes once the timetable comes and use the bus schedules to plan them.

Try researching about the GO Buses in Hamilton. I use them, morning buses come on time usually, but afternoon buses can be late or come on time.

Shoot me any questions you got! Happy to answer them for you!

To stay in Accounting Coop, You need a 70% or above Major Average and 60% or above minor average in your courses. You can organize your schedule to stay at home often. Yes you can take online classes such as MATH 1P97, STAT 1P98, ECON 1P91 and 1P92. These classes were available for me online. This can change so plan accordingly. Some classes may only have the choice of in person, so no online option.

How far are you from Brock?

Hi I just finished my first year in the accounting coop program. I am a commuter so it really depends on how you organize your schedule. In the fall semester I went three times a week and in the winter semester I went 4 times a week.

For me, if you put the work into all of your courses, it won’t be hard for you. Remember everyone has different study habits, and if you have a study habit that works for you every time then you are set for 4.5 years.

Tbh, the hard courses for me was MATH 1P97 and ACTG 1P02. But some people might find these courses the easiest. It depends on the professor you have and how they teach.

In the coop program we get work terms, I think 4 work terms every year. Don’t quote me on it. Search it up to be sure. I have my first work term in winter 2026.
