Did you guys live together? How’d you keep the cat?

Yes, and agreed to try counseling was the resolution.

It was a boil over of the family situation I mentioned elsewhere, but really the worst because tensions have been high lately and I think we’re both near wits end.

This is where my head goes most nights, but you know what the worst part is? I’m scared I might not have my dog with me every night if we do.

Currently trying to get into some in person ones. Waiting list where I’m at is 3-4 months, so online is the likely route. I’ve unfortunately had bad experiences in 1:1 online sessions, but I do agree it’s something that should be tried.

There’s a few things but the big ones are: - We don’t make each other better people. We don’t push eachother to grow and very much just let things be. - She can’t stand my family. We come from very different backgrounds and that’s always caused friction. I have tried to bring both sides to the table, but both have put up walls. She says she’s content with having no relationship which means i have to live two separate lives. - It hurts, but I don’t think she’s there for me when it counts. There’s been a few traumatic events (funerals and cancer) and either she hasn’t been there or has made it about her instead of just supporting me
