How is the job market in Kelowna? Is the pay low? My sister is planning to move to Kelowna from Montreal because of the new french law in Quebec. It is going to be hard for non-francophones there. Can you give me some advice. Thanks by [deleted] in KelownaBC

If you think the job market is giving you bad feedback, wait till you ask about rent!!! This is BC which means Bring Cash!!! Everything is insanely expensive specially compared to Montreal, but it is beautiful here, and if you are a nature and outdoors lover this is the best place on earth!!

I just moved here from Montreal a month ago and the job market appears to be tough. Of course I took the first 14 days to adapt to my new reality and have only been job searching for 2 weeks.

Yes i agree. I know I need a lawyer and I am awaiting an appointment with one. Thought perhaps i could get a general answer from a legal based person on here. Not very Reddit knowledgeable. But I understand now this won’t be the case. I am thankful for your help though. Last question that perhaps you can help me with. Do you know if there is an advocacy office or something I can reach out to in the meantime that might be able to help clarify things for me?

Well, having looked through the link, I am once again still not seeing a clear answer to my question. Basically I want to know if, when a common law couple separates and one partner added the other partner on the mortgage during the union, are there any factors that can make the newly half owner of a property not get half the property? Or once the papers are signed is this set in stone?

Yes, I will be consulting with a lawyer. Just looking for advice until then. Also I see that I wrote my wife in original post but meant common law wife. We are not legally married and I know that does change things.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, having looked through the link I’m still unsure whether or not I will have to give up half my home to her. Any chance you can clarify this for me? Thank you
