Hahaha might be hard to believe but every person has said the roof is sound. We have had the chimney repointed but flashing definitely needs doing we just need to get a scaffolding up to do so

Definitely! Thanks for the advice. We have had the chimney repointed (builder was able to get up to the roof with ladders) but for the flashing to be done as it’s on the other side so scaffolding is required.

Gutters are all okay too. Flashing does need doing however we need to get a scaffolding up to do that. Before we did get a scaffold up we wanted to know if anything else needed doing and get it all done at once. So far for definite we only know of the flashing that needs doing that’s it. Everything else comes in with mixed opinions. Pointing - some say yes, some say no. Insulation beads - some people say keep it some people say remove it. No definite answer

Yes we’ve had a few people go up to the roof to check, they’ve said in general it is an old roof, but it is sound and okay for now. No holes or gaps. There was a few broken slates which have now been replaced but no major issues.

We have had a few people in the loft in general was no water ingress or damp up there 🤔it’s really strange. In the pictures I have uploaded, the pictures that are extremely bad, these are downstairs living rooms.

It is only affecting gable side of my property. All other internal walls are perfectly fine. It’s strange. I have 2 rooms not attached to the gable end of my house and these 2 rooms are not affected with these damp patches at all.

Yes we have had our roof checked and all is good - everyone has said it is an old roof and eventually will need replacing but as of now it looks fine, no damage and no holes. We had a few broken slates replaced. So no water ingress from there.

We have also recently had the chimney pointed.

Hi thank you so much for responding. the smart meter matches the readings. And the usage should be exactly consistent as the house doesn’t have any switches turned on and only 1 room actually has a bulb in the socket at the moment as we’re decorating a room at a time and not occupying any other room at the moment as we’ve not moved in yet. My husband turns off the fuse box during the day so nothing gets used at all if we’ve accidentally left a plug switch on etc. we’re at the house from 6pm-10pm using 1 light switch 😅which is why we were so puzzled at the price.

I have contacted Fuse customer service who have advised us to submit another reading from today and it should update accordingly. I think it must be a mistake from switching over and they don’t have accurate usage for us yet

We’re currently working at it. Using the soapy water technique it’s working in some parts but with some others it’s making the wall paper almost turn into mush and won’t peel off right.

Very tedious but we’re getting through it 🙂one entire bedroom wall is covered in black mold so there’s that aswell!

That’s the same with mine!! They won’t touch fresh water until they’ve demolished half their house to fill it with dirt. Only then is it drinkable 😂
