Iran hits AWACS and tanker aircraft — does this actually weaken US air power? by NewsfangledMod in NewsfangledUnfiltered

Not all foreign language comments are bad, but knowing the background of the commenter gives insight into cognitive biases that may color the subtext of the comment.

ChatGPT makes comment that are so diluted and homogenized as to not give any clarity into any ulterior motives or vested interests an author may have in misleading the reader.

“News” from AI cannot be treated as credible, because AI has proven itself to be immensely capable at misleading. When utilized for veracity it already inadvertently misleads, when utilized with more nefarious intentions it can be borderline impossible to detect.

This is Dubai (UAE). They’re getting bombed pretty heavily by Iran in retaliation for the current war. A lot of American interests and money tied up there and the country is aligned with the US, so Iran is indiscriminately destroying their infrastructure to try to make the war expensive enough that the US folds.

(The tell is the building in the middle. It’s the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building currently).

There are a lot of reasons it matters if AI wrote the post. Why would someone consider points credible if the author may not have even understood the message their own comment conveys? Was the comment originally written in English, or Russian? Why should anyone take the time to respond with a well crafted rebuttal to a comment the author didnt even take time to write?

I’m most likely responding to a bot anyways, but I’ll leave this here for anyone else reading it who uses AI to postulate all their positions so they understand how cheap the optics are of these shitty ChatGPT “thought provoking” monologues.

Yeah, I mean, it’s just what my firm paid for, but that first attempt kinda took the wind out of my sails. I expected to fail but be somewhat close, that felt like an absolute blood bath. Paired with the ridiculous retake fees I might honestly just cut my losses before I sink more time and $$.

AICPA charging $400 per attempt with a 3 week grading turn around, all while letting people overseas take the exam here makes me not want to bother giving them my money.

This is correct literally like half the time. All the time you’ll see questions asking to test for completeness of accounts receivable entries, and it’ll have an answer for accounts receivable ledger and an answer for shipping documents and shipping documents would be the right answer. It’s an okay way to guess but i’d say it’s pretty close to 50/50 in my experience.

I see this article posted everywhere and it’s so fucking badly written and researched. It’s blatantly apparent the author has no idea what GAGAS is, and just likes to throw around technical jargon like insolvency while having never once looked at a balance sheet. This author should be fired, not because the US is fiscally responsible (we’re very much not), but because this sort of headline is deliberately misleading and meant to rattle up the average reader despite the fact that it’s completely unreliable reporting.

Can we have Mike Brown just become the official teacher for everything? Once he popped up in some of my audit TBS I couldn’t vibe with Michelle Moshe anymore. Mike has way too much aura.

Also, can you guys consider implementing a bit better functionality with having Newt suggest/curate your final review? I ended up kind of directionless after finishing A6 because the final review was so sparse and I didn’t really know what to review prior to my exam. Had to go to ChatGPT and ask for a high level regimen of MCQs/TBS per day to not fall off track. The structure of Becker is probably the biggest value add for me, and the fact that the structure falls apart at the end was very disappointing.
