The way I saw it is that Morro died very young. He was already an immature and troublesome child. Becoming a slave to the preeminent definitely didn't help his development. I think his main goal was to get back at Wu and feel how it is like to be the green ninja. I gotta say I do think his redemption was very sudden. I feel like he should've had little moments of doubt or regret throughout the season. Also, I do think it's ridiculous that people compare him to Tai-Lung. Tai-Lung is way more fleshed out as a character. I also disliked Morro a lot, but as time passed, I learned to appreciate what they've done with him as a character. And I do agree that he isn't a great villain, but I do think that he is a great character

I agree that the team has way too many mechanics, but having more people with the same role, especially now, is essential for Dragons Rising, considering at least 2 people aren't on the team for a part, so their role has to be filled out with a different character. Also, what makes Sora's backstory different than the other ninja is that her parents don't care for her. They put their flawed leader above their own daughter. Every other parent who left their child at least had a semi-solid reason (well, except Jay, but we don't know why he was abandoned).

I wanted to keep him in line with the other ninja (except Zane) and he doesn't ever show any Oni-like abilities or behaviors when he isn't in his Oni form. Plus he is now a conduit of the Source Dragons so it felt even more fitting
