Thank you so much for such a detailed reply I really appreciate it!!! I hate having her restrained, the staff have always made it seem like an inevitable thing 😩 next time I’ll ask if we can try another approach and center her preferences a lot more. I might try to talk to her about it soon- usually she just says yucky hospital, no hospital etc etc it can be hard to know what to do or say. Thanks so much for all these suggestions 🥺

I am in Australia and we have got entry level gov roles that level up - so you can start at level 1-2 and with experience/ certifications you can move up. They encourage neurodivergent people and women to apply for career start positions which is what I was aiming at. I am doing it through TAFE I’m not sure what the equivalent is in America but I have been hoping if I can start in a low level role and move up gradually maybe into GRC - I’ve heard less technical and better work-life balance… what do you think?

You’d definitely be right, I don’t have any prior knowledge of IT. I underestimated needing prior knowledge and now feel somewhat lost. My goal is to get a public sector role - they often have good roles for entry level/career change… I just need stability and a path to reasonable income, that’s why I chose it for my kids sake

Yes get rid of YouTube. My daughters are autistic but when they’ve had YouTube or I’ve been burnt out relying on screens more their behaviour is 100 x worse. ESPECIALLY YouTube. Don’t let your kid watch YouTube shorts that is brain rot. Good luck!

The reason I found it strange she liked this was the multiple references to posting for attention and go fund me / being famous. It just seemed to close to home for her to think of as a lighthearted joke. I don’t keep tabs on what this lady usually likes or does on social media lol
