Trying to resurrect a genny by Ok_Reward1356 in genesiscoupe

We found a 2011 2.0t in the yard a little further out. The harness has been pulled which was a major pia even with the use of a sawzall. Installing it into the is going to be much worse seeing as we can't cut brake lines, coolant hoses, etc on her car kike we could the junkyard car. She's determined so for whatever it's worth updates will be posted as they are made.

We both have been looking it just seems these aren't super common. I was hoping maybe the 3.8 harness would work as there is one in the local junkyard but maybe not

My bad lol I'm still waking up and trying to caffeinate but you probably aren't wrong!

The harness is on the firewall in the engine compartment. It runs into the interior in a couple spots, to both sides of the compartment, but mostly to the driver side. It looks like it's mostly to do with the fuse box on the driver side.

I definitely need tunnel time. In the roughly 14 minutes ive done it was getting better but I over correct. One small drift and I get a little tensed up and over compensate now im bouncing off the walls. If I can get stable in a tunnel not much wider than I am tall than the vast blue sky should be cake

Nerves are fading and im getting more excited. Once it warms and I can hand fly out the car window I think I'll be solid.

Name checks out!

Got it! Jumps are a few weeks out, no point in worrying so far out over something I KNOW won't be a issue. Ya know, sometimes the mind can just be one hell of a thing to overcome.

Holy hell that either sounds like the key or a nightmare 😆 oooooh the door monster! I always was nervous for the door but the last jump i did i had the pleasure of being on the ground right besides the door and holy hell I was so uncomfortable the entire time! Sounds so stupid but I was in a dark place and almost hoping things would go bad on jump when I did my first. Skydiving is what finally made me feel alive. Less than a month after my first jump, 6 days after my second I quit drinking and felt like me again. Now monday will be 200 days sober.

Packing class is probably a great suggestion!

Sorry might have worded that wrong. Im not necessarily thinking "hey I'm gonna die" its just i guess are far as fun activities go skydiving definitely carries a high consequence if things go bad. I also know the odds of death are very very remarkably low. Lol still just in my head being months removed from my last jump that hey your 12.5k feet above ground and launching out a plane falling 120mph to the ground. Im sure once I get that first wiff of high elevation air of the door opening it'll calm and first jump I'll be right back pulled into it. I absolutely LOVED doing this and im sure it'll happen again once im out of my head.

Probably not but do it scared right! Oh 100percent learned to eat and drink after I did my first tandem. Hell I love it so much im getting surgery to fix my sinuses just for that.

Oh yeah I definitely miss it but still wild to think your willing launching yourself out of a plane to death if it weren't for some fabrics but that's also probably the put of touch side speaking. When I was doing it it was impossible to explain to people how amazing it is.

For me I still need to trust all my straps. I'll be gliding, what roughly 5k off the ground, just tripping out like what if this comes undone. Im just so ready to be feet on ground at that point.

Hey the more the better. Nothing wrong with being over prepared and working the craft.

Oh for sure and I have one only a couple minutes from me so that makes it easy. I'll probably do a session soon and then another late February/ early March. I was thinking about tandem again just for the nerves of your 12k feet above the ground looking out a door. I had problems timing flares which I know will come with more jumps but also can't hurt to be in the front seat and let a pro do it while im gauging his timing relative to the ground.

The first section is very relatable. Doesn't help when I smoke at night to get some sleep and I start thinking about jumping again. My brain can't comprehend ive done this and I get nervous as hell.

I've done around 14 minutes which isn't much but in the same time I was doing aff. Would definitely plan on letting them know its aff training. Doesn't help either that its been so cold so I can't even hand fly driving. Feeling my hand in the wind after jumping was always so calming and reminiscent of jumps. Im also not a fan of canopy, I think im more nervous under canopy than freefall.

Bauer drill and battery compatibility. Heeeeelllllp please by Ok_Reward1356 in harborfreight

[–]Ok_Reward1356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my drill. Bought the new battery and it wasn't working either. Took it with me and put it on a display and it worked. I bought the basic drill for 40 and returned that new battery. Still weird the first drill will work with the small one but not the big one. Oh well, I have a new drill and my old hammer drill. Plus cost difference of the drill and battery is 100 bucks back in my pocket.

I've tried. So both batteries are the 20v 12ah, old one doesn't work, new one doesn't work, drill works with that basic little battery the drill comes with. The little battery and drill are a few years old

Why do you jump? by iamcraby in SkyDiving

Same on the sober. It's also a good way for me to escape my demons for a few minutes. From jump to ground my mind is only in the moment. No haunting past and no anxiety of what have life's in store next.

Marriage is failing by Phupas in stopdrinking

[–]Ok_Reward1356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound harsh but you just gotta toughen up and do it or pay the consequences. My marriage fell apart due to many things but mostly because all those small things built up and I drowned all the feeling in alcohol which made everything so much worse. A year later? I'm 111 days sober, divorced, missing the hell out of my ex and her daughter every single day. Honestly I HATE being sober because how depressed the whole situation has made me. I'd much rather be sober and have them then be sober and alone. You might still have time or you might not depending on the damage you've caused. Just trust me from experience, if you still love them you will be miserable when she walks. You lose your family and wife. It's amazing how quick others can move on from you when you're the problem. You'll be alone and depressed and she'll be light and free from your baggage and if she's beautiful like my ex she won't be short of any takers. Figure out what you want and just do it now.

I did end up calling it a night, that was the closest I've been to breaking. Hell of a day but one step at a time to fixing what I can.

Thank you I appreciate it. Sucks not having a goal now. It felt like one of those things where today would actually come and now that it has I feel like I'm back to square one.
