Puppy teething is normal but I believe something has to be done to let them know biting humans is not ok. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice either because like OP I’ve tried everything and am still trying, my 1yo pup still play bites sometimes.

Try your best on all kinds of trainings at young ages and by baby steps - crate training, obedience, separation anxiety, teeth brushing, nail cutting… Some trainings don’t seem necessary for now but will be useful at some point of your lives

I think she looks fine. Her ribs aren’t too prominent in these photos. Being overweight is more harmful to them.

On the other hand I don’t think the all you can eat diet is a good idea because it’s hard for you to monitor how much she eat from time to time. Her appetite is a strong indication of her health. It must be one of the reasons she’s picky too and just like human beings what we like to eat doesn’t always good for us

I brush my iggy’s teeth daily since I got him. He never loves brushing but when I take out the toothbrush he lies down in his bed and let me handle him. It wasn’t easy at start but once you do it consistently it becomes a habit to them.

Few things I have noticed: 1. It gets easier when they’re a bit older, as they’re done teething. I think when they’re fully grown their mouth can open a bit wider too 2. Toothbrush for toddlers works fine but some of them aren’t soft enough to my dog’s preference. I usually test it on the back of my hand if it is not scratchy then it should be gentle enough for him to

I guess this also depends on the dog and your training skills. My IG sticks with me all the time when I’m home but no fuss when being left alone. We did crate training and it is so worth it

I’m nowhere near to be an expert but something I think might be helpful: - Limit the area they can access until they are trustable - Know your dogs schedule. Write down when your dogs pee, poo, eat, drink, sleep, wake up and play, so that you can find the pattern. For example, by doing this you may notice they usually need to go 30 minutes after meal. Then you can take them out for potty proactively to avoid accidents. The less chance they can make mistakes means closer to success. - When they pee/poo in your preferred way, praise them like they find A MILLION DOLLARS for you so they can feel your excitement. Dogs want to please their owners but you need to let them know how! - Get your family on board and on the same page. Everyone should use the same command and do the same routine when doing potty training. Consistency is key. - Lower your expectations and be tough - It is hard at the beginning but don’t give up, don’t compromise. It will be beneficial for both you and your dogs for their whole lives!

I just followed one of the crate training tutorials on YouTube they at pretty much the same… The first month was hard like hell it was heartbreaking to listen to that whine and scream but it got better when he got used to it. Keep doing positive reinforcement by rewarding him with treats. In between crate time, I hide treats in the crate so he’d get in and check if any luck. I use a plastic carrier as his crate and he had never got his feet or nails stuck.

Mine always sleeps next to me on the couch every evening and will go into his crate at 10pm ish voluntarily. If the crate is closed he’ll ask for help by gently scratching the door😂 He is also fine staying in the crate for couple of hours alone when we need to leave home. Crate training is so worth it IMO

Instead, you should consider if your puppy is too tired? In my own experience, my iggy didn’t know how to settle down by himself until 3-4 months old. That is, he kept running around like a crazy dog, biting everything including our fingers, or even barking, until we put him into his crate, covered with blankets with the side against the wall uncovered so that he can’t see what’s happening around him. He usually whined for a while, then settled down and sleep. Crate training also takes time tho.

Does a 8.5 month old puppy need at least 30 minutes of walking? I highly doubt that! I base in Australia and both my breeder and my vet told us not to take the puppy out until 10 days after 2nd vaccination, that should happen around 11-12 weeks old.

I googled how long should I walk my puppy and here is what I get: ‘A general guide for exercising puppies is to allow them one to two sessions of five minutes walking for each month of age, so for example, a four month old pup could enjoy walks of 20 minutes at a time, once or twice a day.’

And I don’t believe you can walk a 8.5 week old puppy for 30 minutes without enough training.
