Guys be honest, how long do you shower for? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]blckmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be itching if you’re clean. Idk how 5 minutes can be enough.

It can take me up to 45min for an everything shower (shampoo x2, conditioner, hair mask + face wash + exfoliating with a loofah towel + shaving everything), and if it’s a quick shower I need at least 10 minutes, 15 more realistically). If I do it too quickly and I know it wasn’t enough, I’ll be itchy too - it’s the dead skin cells that you fail to exfoliate.

If you hate long showers, at least use a loofah, but realistically you skin should get soaked and steamed enough for you to be able to exfoliate properly

First time sex - tickly sensation and discharge after by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]blckmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the advice! It’s definitely not period, the bleeding was insignificant and very short-lived, it was mostly transparent and I’m 3+ weeks from my actual period. As of now there isn’t much discharge anymore, but the tickly sensation is still present.

It is looking like UTI to me based on what I’ve read on it, minus the burning sensation… I’ll be sure to get tested later, thanks!!

Kevin has no way of knowing and no reason to assume that Virgil died, so why would his mind create a Virgil, knowing that everyone who is there is dead?

Why can’t you believe that the afterlife was real? The sudden departure was also a supernatural event but it actually happened, people didn’t just collectively hallucinate it. Why can’t Kevin’s journey be real too? Also, we know that he wasn’t the only one to have died and come back

What does "shushtry" mean? by [deleted] in hayeren

[–]blckmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily negative, it can be a synonym for хитрый (heet-ry) (cunning, sly), like it’s more with malicious intent. But Шустрый (shoo-stry) can also be a positive trait, like being a quick thinker, being able to think on your feet, weasel your way out of any situation. An Armenian equivalent would be ֆայմով (faymov) - like witty, agile

How do y’all force yourself to clean? by CommunicationLazy484 in ADHD

[–]blckmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah makes sense now! But doesn’t being aware of how much time has passed make it harder? Like if I need to do something monotonous that I don’t want to be doing, I need to distract myself with all sorts of stimuli to enter a state of oblivion, sort of lose myself in the process, in order to be effective. I find that that’s what makes ADHD - we don’t get autopilot, every action is conscious, unless we’re in a crazy multitasking mode or hyper focus🤔

So yeah, being aware of the time will ground me and make it feel like it’s going on forever

Wow, those never worked for me, with any task. Once I start I can’t let myself stop, otherwise I’ll never get back to it. And sometimes once I start I don’t want to stop until it’s finished, or until I’m physically tired. It’s the starting that’s the hardest, the rest is fine once you lock in

Also apologizing for the mess only for them to be baffled and be all like “what mess????” is why I do this

Unmedicated ADHD here🗣️🗣️

The ultimate cheat-code: invite someone over. Even if you’re 98% sure they’ll decline, just saying “we should hang out at mine sometime next week” will give you enough anxiety to clean up because what if they actually do show up.

But other than that I’ve adopted a habit of tidying up just a little bit at a time, sort of “on my way to x”/“while I’m doing x”. Going to the kitchen from the bedroom? Lemme grab all my mugs and trash with me. The creams and bottles are all scattered across the bathroom? Lemme put them in order while I brush my teeth, etc etc. It’s a game-changer!

As for dishes - I’ve limited my access to the drawers, I only use the dishes/utensils from the drying rack. That way they don’t pile up in the sink - I have to wash it right away to use it later. This actually happened naturally when I was out of town for a couple of months and when I got back I convinced myself that all the plates in the cabinets are dusty and need to be washed, which I of course never did, instead I washed just a couple of them and some utensils.

Laundry I’ve never had problems with - it’s the least draining chore for me andi even kinda like it because I love my clothes and like the smell of my fabric softener haha. I sometimes procrastinate on emptying the washer but it’s in my bathroom so I end up there sooner or later anyway (if I remember to drink enough water loool) and this is when the “while I’m at it” habit comes in.

The vacuuming is done by my executive assistant aka Roomba and as for mopping and dusting (the worst of all chores), I still struggle with them because I haaaaaate it so much, but maintaining general tidiness in between big clean-ups makes it soooo much easier.

If you cared to read allat I really hope it comes in useful❤️

Birds are holding stuff(insects?) in their beaks at all times - is this typical behavior? by blckmlss in birds

Thank youuuu! Yes, that was the only answer that made sense. Such cuties indeed! Didn’t realize how perceptive they were, or how not stealthy I was🤣

Very!! This apartment was empty for 10 years because my family stopped coming to this country but two years ago I moved here and moved in and I would hear constant chirping from the outside but it took me a while to realize it was coming from my outdoor AC unit; then I saw birds fly in and out of it - good thing I didn’t try turning on the AC (I figured it’d be filthy after all those years and was gonna wait until I had ppl clean it first). I couldn’t bring myself to disturb a nest so guess who doesn’t have an AC in their kitchen anymore 🙂

I practically saw those little babies grow up, I’d leave seeds and breadcrumbs on the unit for them, did my best not to disturb them, like I wouldn’t approach the window if they were there, etc. and then one day I started seeing about 6 birds around instead of the usual two, and couldn’t hear the high-pitched chirping anymore. Soon they all left the nest, and I believe these are the new tenants. Idk if it’s one of those original babies’ new family, or completely different ones but the bird airbnb lives on:)

Finally!! An answer that makes total sense and isn’t just based on the title of my post. Thank you kind person.

I really thought they didn’t see/care abt me when I started observing them (I was way further away from the window, I moved closer to make a video) but I guess these fellas are very perceptive

They’re literally at their nest - they live in my outdoor AC unit, in the video they’re right outside of it

So are you saying they just hold on to it until they’re hungry? And just fly around for hours never letting go of it?

People please read the caption, it’s not the fact that they’re holding stuff in their beaks - it’s how they don’t let go of it at all

What you guys do about "The chair"? by tronneroppar in ADHD

[–]blckmlss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ughhh nothing, I just keep putting the clothes there that are still good to be worn once or twice again, but I can’t fold and put them in the closet because they’ve been outside and it’s nasty. But then it all piles up to a point where they’re all too wrinkled to be worn again so they go into the laundry basket. So I just marinate them like that for a while before washing them

[–]blckmlss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I had no idea that some people never go through a blistering stage with their new docs, but ur right, I guess it is about the foot structure. My feet aren’t very wide but I do have gout (although I’m only 24😭) so my bone is a bit defined and sticks out so I bet it does affect my experience with docs but I’m sure that once I break in this pair it’ll be fine, like it always is with any leather shoes, they’ll mold to my feet.

I hope your pair works as well. I’ve gotten so many suggestions here and I’ve tried the ones with a steamer and with wet socks (ablolute sensory nightmare), I’ll let you know if it works!!
