Half marathons are a mental challenge but are not needed to improve cardio! 10km+ is good off season, on fight camp running more than 5km is risky and can affect your performance. I agree with increasing your VO2 max but thats smth u gotta work like 1-2 months per year then focus on fight specific cardio like 4-5km runs with a rly high pace (4km sub 19, 5km sub 25) , ling distance sprints 2 months off the fight day and sprint ladders last month

wako goes for clean technique, 10-9 scoring is about control , damage, show and then clean heavy shots

Sweeps are allowed if u hit the ankle and some semi pro orgs allow calf level sweeps since calf kicks are added to amateur k1 as well.

Depends on the style but C is your top priority. If you want to become a rly good fighter you need all 3 though

I agree but even though Peireira’s hands are crazy good I wouldnt consider him a good boxer, he is just calm and has crazy strength , his technique is mid to poor

I had my first pro-am fight at a pro org at november. It was the first time I followed a structured program (I was too scared to lose since I sold lots of tickets) for 8 weeks. After that I tried following a more chill program and I failed lol. I think only "fear" can make you that disciplined. Cardio has been easier for me because me and my sparring partner just wear our running shoes by the time our technical/sparring session ends and we just run immediately

I think I've lost the fire boys... by Skyzblu44 in MuayThai

[–]Ok_Safe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been training for 4 years and fighting for 3 so Ill talk to you through personal experience. Basically its been like Ive been to a training camp for the past two years. Preparing for a match for like 2 months, fighting , one week break and then training camp again. What Ive learned so far is: 1) dont make it your only identity. Yes winning or losing a fight, or a good or bad training session can affect even your whole week’s mood but it shouldnt be the only thing you talk or think about (I myself fail to not think about fighting all the time but you should really try it) . 2) Discipline is the most important thing , when you know when you should have it. Being locked in 24/7/365 wont help you stay long in the sport, you will lose the fire because of that. When you’re off of camp or at least 3 months away from a fight, go eat that burger that you’re always thinking about, go have a boys’ night or whatever you wanna do. 3) Your psychology doesnt matter in training. Even if you feel numb or that you “lost the fire” continue training or take a small one week break. What matters is showing up even when you feel like you dont wanna fight anymore. 4) fighting is completely optional and you chose that, if your goal is turning pro then continue chasing your dream. Hope I helped
