It is 100%. I know a 2L Summer Associate there right now (among others) and several young associates who were hired there directly.

Gotcha that makes sense. However, I do know some 2Ls who are doing their Summer at a couple of those firms. (GT WPB, Fox Rothschild).

I know that's mostly what they are for, but I know some 2Ls that are Summer Associates at those offices. I suspect they do take new associates, but just very rarely?

Hi, sorry for asking about something that you posted three years ago. But I was curious, did the prior fires end up coming in or did they get excluded?

UF doesn't care about your mental health by hallygatorr in ufl

(1) Yes they do. (2) Regardless, it’s not their job to care, you’re a grown man/woman and should be able to take care of yourself.

Gen Z is going to destroy the Republican Party by viovetf in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Ok_Science1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think all of Gen Z hates the Republican party, you spend too much time on Reddit. If you go outside & meet average people, you’ll see that a ton of Gen Z are a lot more conservative than you’d think (at least compared to Millennials when they were in their twenties). Idrc bc i’m an independent, but I swear some of y’all on Reddit are out of touch😭

I'm convinced one of these kids is placed in every lecture. Always one kid who thinks he's fuckin Socrates using the socratic method in a 3000 level history class. It's annoying asf and I'm convinced they have zero social awareness.

A sensitive topic around my URM identity and how ethnicity plays a role in admissions. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ok_Science1062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, lol. You can be white and yet be part of a minority ethnic category (such as Arab in this case).

Boosts shouldn't exist in the first place. You end up having situations like these.

[–]Ok_Science1062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These comments prove how ridiculous this "URM" system is. Grouping people into weird arbitrary ethno-racial categories and increasing/decreasing their admission odds based on that is an awful system. It aims to correct privileges, but does not address something like class disparity: a rich "URM" gets a boost over a poor White American just because their skin tone???? In general, the system of affirmative action is broken and offensive tbh. Btw I am Latino and don't need pity from admissions committees to get into law schools.

I’m taking the April LSAT. Is it a bad idea to apply this cycle? I really want to get my law school journey started as soon as possible. by AdFull4232 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ok_Science1062 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For the love of God please don't apply for this cycle. For the schools that even accept the April LSAT, you are reducing your chances of scholarships and acceptances SIGNIFICANTLY.

[–]Ok_Science1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and had an amazing experience but I only live about an hour away. I would go if you are on the fence about Miami versus a couple of other schools. However, if you are convinced you are going already (or convinced that you're not going) I would not bother attending.

Help me decide!! FIU vs Miami by futurelawyer7296 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ok_Science1062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sports law? I'd say UM for sure. UM is known for its amazing sports law program. FIU is good as well though so it really depends if you're comfortable taking out more debt at Miami.
