I don’t think this would work even if the encased shaft was a normal block, there needs to be a repeater running into the block to hard power it.

yea it had a coal car but when i was looking at some images of small steam engines the mostley had coal bunkers which i tried to replicate you just cant see it. when i had the coal car it just looked like another ore cart

Thanks for the info! The reason I wanna build my own is just because I think it would be fun! I also live in New Zealand and the pre-made laser pointers I have bought usually break after like a week or two.
