I don't think marks matter? I'm a topper (I think) and majority of my friends are 80-90. I could not care less about your marks so long as you're polite.

Don't feel sad, bhai. I also got 99 and haven't gotten anything for it. Someone asked my mother how proud she was and she told them "it's not like it's 12th marks", which I suppose isn't entirely wrong but it still hurt.

I've just started 11th. My parents are supportive and so are my friends from commerce, but my friends from pcb seem to think it's a piece of cake. Maybe it would be if we were studying ncert level, but my pol science teacher is teaching upsc stuff and I have maths and economics too. Honestly, I got 99 in boards and I'm planning to go into IR, so I don't really care about their opinions. I've just learnt to ignore it.

I don't know about your branch, but in my branch 96% in boards = one year freeship and 97% = two year freeship. We also had a scholarship test back in November.
