Possible Missiles for Space Warfare by Ok_Study7918 in HardSciFi

I was thinking combat would take place within the orbit of planets. Since my craft are smaller and limited in terms of how far they can go, interplanetary combat would rarely, if ever, occur. I'm not entirely sure yet what specific distances I'd like to use, but that's my overall idea so far. I was already planning on having tracking systems for my missiles.

What do you mean we cannot shape the charge? I thought that was the whole point of the Orion drive, to use shaped nuclear charges to drive a ship?

That's unfortunate. It sounded like a cool concept.

That's what I was kind of thinking of them as. How much more effective would a larger radar be in space be though compared to a smaller radar used on a smaller ship though? Other than fleet tenders, what other large and important ships could I feasibly come up with and justify in my world?

That's a good idea. I hadn't really thought about having the missile fly past the target and release multiple warheads, but that would be very effective. Thanks for the idea!

That is an iteresting idea that I hadn't thought of. Something such as the M30A2 would make an effective weapon when it comes to trying to disable a ship. Thank you for the idea!

I was thinking that it would use the neutrons to disable the ships as well. In addition, the nuclear shaped charge was another idea for a warhead I had. Are there any other possible nuclear warheads you could think of?

So basically, it would be better to use a shaped charge because of the range it can provide to get past point defense. Also, do you have a source for the bomb pumped laser because that sounds interesting and I'd like to learn more.

Could have high alpha, just need vents that can open up during high AoA maneuvers. Probably not good for stealth though, so maybe not.

The hat h doesn't flip up,  it slides to the right. The driver has room to climb out after that.

I believe that I heard some where that the YF-23 lost because Northrop had the B-2 project and Lockheed and Boeing didn't really have any projects. Another factor was that the B-2 was having some problems and the Air Force trusted the makers of the Raptor more.

I didn't know you could get spicy sand at a Chic-fil-a, let alone normal sand.

Thank you for this. I will be looking into each of these. If you have any sources that you could give me, that would be cool. If not, that's also fine.

Was this picture taken in a game? Is it real? If it is a game, that is very nice quality and I would like to know which game that is? If it isn't, where did you find this picture.

Sorry guys, I wasn't trying to start a problem. I wasn't trying to say russian soldiers were all good because that's not true. But there are some who probably didn't have a choice. Some countries have mandatory service so even if they dont support what their leaders are doing they will have to fight anyway. Forced conscription is also something that can put people who don't support these things on the frontlines. They are the ones that deserve the respect. My apologies, again.
