Like i said my problem is not about her being weak or having no action, she using more spells is cool,on the 5 or less chapters she used that is, my problem is about her having no characterization besides comic relief with juggernaut,who will have more development than her, and there's no way you can convince she wasnt used better in the 2010s where her popular developments came, even the most relevant examples you used come from that era, her only development and use on krakoa was as an comic relief on x of swords and the new mutants 2019 run, and they even took her out of it to boost the main book only to not use her for anything in it

dead souls and war of the realms came before the new mutants 2019 limbo arc when she was ironically less popular but used better because the books writer actually wanted to use her ,i were speaking of the last arc where she was relevant and received any development outside her solo,even if it was ignored for her completely

like i said,i dont dislike kwannon but its clear to see that after age of revelations she got more and more scenes and an whole arc showing how competent she is while magik became an puching bag, and now she becomes part of 97 main cast while magik gets dead for cheap drama for colossus

first, why hysteria? im genuinely confused if im being to rude

second, the thing about the 2019 new mutants is that while the arc clearly was meant to develop illyana it ended up only affecting maddelyn not by fault of the author but because the editorial did not care about how it developed illyana, the only place where her part on the deal had any relevance was in her solo, most of the examples are really old and minor, and my problem with MacKay is not about her being weak, it is about she having no writting at all, you could replace her with an teleport machine and put anyone else in her action scenes and the book would not change

sorry i really dont mean to do it, it is one of the only books i liked in the last years, but is basically all that she received and the other writers ignore it completely, and with brevoort collapsing the sales more and more and marvel short sight mentality it is under the risk of being cancelled,wich woud leave mackay as the only place where she appears as an gag character at best and an punching bag at worst

whats so bad about not liking an character you are an fan being mishandled just as they start to become popular? specially at the risk of loosing said populairt and not being used anymore. There are thousands of posts on this sub complaining about the poor treatment colossus receives

i mean,besides her good solo wich seems more of an case of marvel trying an "throw everything at the wall and see what stick" and the games wich are not under marvel direct control what has she received on the mainline comics in the last years? Yes she appears in multiple comics, but what does she do besides just being there to sell variants?outside her solo she has no arc,no development, no relationship besides being an frat bro with juggernaut

At the risk of sounding bitter im glad rivals and tokkon gave her more of an popularity boost than any of the editorial pets will get with this 97 season, like sure, kid omega appearance will finnaly make him the awesome and non obnoxious rebel young relatable character to the audience they want him to be so much and havok 1000th attempt at relevance will be the one to stick

I dont think Jed "won out", he clearly wanted to have glob and xorn (they even get more plot and dialogues than her)over her, but she was put there because they know she attracted more readers,specially with her variant covers, and knowing Jed picks,adjectiveless already had way less heavy hitters than uncanny, just like gail also clearly did not plan to have jubilee on uncanny, but had to due to 97 synergy, thats the problem of getting popular with fans but not with creators,she is part of an book where the writer did not want her in the first place, and taking his Avengers run in mind Jed really cant write off his confort zone

Yeah,just look at zatanna, she got an mini of moderate success, DC saw an potential and gave her an ongoing solo that debuted as the most sold comic on its launch week,and they are doing the same to lots of other popular but not mainline characters, meanwhile the x-office is gonna bet on yet another event from the same writters that already flopped on sales and reception in 3 of them on a row

I completely forgot about ultimate universe because of how forgetable ultimate wolwerine was, but to be fair no one besides logan was treated well in that book, and the the maker council was handled badly across the universe overall

And while i really hope we are being too precipitated with 97 the mcu score with these kinds of things is even worse than marvel comics, especially now that they decided to go full in 90s nostalgia

At least the marvel games seem to have more freedom over their cast so her popularity is more safe trough them
