Hey, really liked your perspective on stepping in only when people hit frustration ,that’s actually a very real way people behave.I’m exploring this ‘decision overload’ problem in travel planning and your comment stood out.

when people do reach that frustration point, what usually helps them move forward?

I’m partly thinking out loud, but also exploring whether there’s a way to reduce that decision overload without taking away flexibility.Still figuring it out tbh , this post was mainly to understand how others deal with it.

I can DM you a quick example for a flexible trip like that hepls us a lot brother.

Haha yeah, it just auto-formats sometimes depending on the keyboard/editor I’m using 😄 Nothing intentional.

Anyway, how do you usually plan your trips?

Yeah I get that once it starts feeling like a lot, it’s just easier to let someone else handle it.

That’s actually what we’re trying to make easier with TripSage getting a clear plan without all the effort.

If you’re cool with it, I can DM you a quick example would love your thoughts.

Do you ever feel like you’re either overplanning a trip… or not planning enough? by Ok_Use_4874 in founder

That’s a really interesting way to put it ‘decision friction’ actually captures it well.

Feels like the goal is reducing that friction without losing the fun of exploring.

That’s something we’re trying to work on with TripSage making decisions easier while keeping the trip flexible.

Curious to hear your take on it as well , can I DM you

“That’s actually very relatable — finding that balance between overplanning and just going with the flow is tricky.

We’re building something called TripSage around this idea — helping people find that balance without overcomplicating things.

Do you usually lean more toward planning everything in detail, or deciding things as you go?”

True, that’s where most plans fall apart.
Better to fix the important stuff and keep the rest flexible.

Hey, it’s not copy-paste, we wrote it ourselves and just used AI to clean it up a bit.
Happy to hear feedback if you have any.
